"Captain Brigghart, we have the Hartington within range, shall we open hailing frequency?" The young ensign called out.

"Yes Ensign Voe, open frequency" Captain Brigghart said as she stood from her seat.

"Greetings Captain Brennon. My name is Captain Elaine Treghart. We are in possesion of a commisioned Starfleet officer who is to join your crew aboard the Hartington. We are hailing you to confirm prefered method of transport. We have a shuttle available that can transport Lt. Zeara to your vessel or we can prep our transporter for transfer. We await your reply."

The Captain touched the ensignia on her uniform opening the com link for the vessel. "Captain Treghart to Lt Zeara"

"Go ahead Captain"

"We are within transport range of the Hartington, once we recieve reply from Captain Brennon, we will transport you."

Rea breathed a silent sigh as she felt her muscles tense up again. "Thank you Captain, I will make my way to the transporter room." She shook her head as the soft beep of the com link closing echoed through her ears. She couldn't explain the tension she felt through her body as she gathered her belongings and started for the transporter room.

Once she reached the transporter room she gave a small smile to the engineer who didn't return it. With a roll of her eyes, she heard the thoughts that ran through the man's mind. He was troubled by news he'd recieved from home regarding his wife. Not wanting to pry further, she blocked out his thoughts from her mind and reached out towards the Hartington. She could feel the complexities of the members of the crew, and got a breif and blessedly quiet glimps into most of them. She shook her head to clear it all out as she smirked. She had her work cut out for her... and had to admit that the change would be welcome.

As Lieutenant Zeara materialized aboard the Hartington she found herself face to face with a Caitian female wearing Command Red and Petty Officer stripes. Her surface thoughts were of very ordered, a list of things to do.

Lieutenant Zera is meeting with the Captain, I must get that man in to speak with her right away... Solek isn't doing the job...

Her train of thought ceased as Zeara came into full focus. The Caitian inclined her head and spoke.

"I am Petty Officer M'Rowl, Captain's Yeomen. Welcome aboard the Hartington Lieutenant Zeara."

Reahil'ea stepped off the transport pad feeling the slight naseua that always followed for her. Suddenly feeling rather tense and impatient she opened her mind to the officer for a brief moment and heard her stream of irratated thoughts before deciding it best to keep her mind closed for a while. With a slight nod and soft smile she greeted the officer.

"Thank you Officer M'Rowl. Is the Captain aboard?"

Rea stood at ease as she went through the motions of duty as she was bombarded with emotions and thoughts pressing against her. It always took her some time to acclimate herself and set her shields to the appropriate level. She actually felt a little nervous at speaking with the Captain and couldn't discern if it was her own emotions... or someone else's.

Yeomen M'Rowl nodded and motioned for the door. As the two walked the Yeomen continued their conversation.

"The Captain is most certainty aboard. And awaiting a meeting with you. Have you had the chance to take a look over the files of some of our Senior Officers? They're quite a read, I hope you're up for a challenge."

She betrayed none of the emotions typical of a more standard humanoid, her feline features sleek and smooth, unchanging... unnerving to some. The only feature that seemed to change from moment to moment was the movement of her tail, a sure sign of her emotional state given some time to observe. For now, she simply looked over to the new Counselor, eyes unblinking, waiting.

Walking with her hands held behind her back she listened to the sounds of the ship around her while conversing with her escort.

"I was able to read a few of the files that Starfleet had sent to the Essex, but it is an outdated ship and we were having some techinical difficulties with the computer. I was told that I would be able to access them once I was settled in."

Rea paused for a moment before turning her attention back to the Yeoman.

"May I ask what it is that has you so irratated?"

She could feel a flicker of tension and felt it best to explain her reasoning behind the question.

"I only ask because my parents gave me a kitten for my 13th birthday and after several years of bonding with an animal that you can read the emotions of, I have learned how to distinguish the body movements of animalistic emotions."

She turned her black eyes towards the woman with an almost childlike curiosity. She felt the temptation to simply open her mind and find the answer for herself, but felt that would be disrespectful given that she was so recent an addition to the crew, and she had to be able to live with these people and didn't enjoy the idea of making enemies right off the bat.

"I couldn't help but notice, I appologize if you find the question intruding."

If the Counselor's question bothered her, Yeomen M'Rowl didn't show any indication of it. She simply smiled and continued speaking.

"Both the computer console in your office and your personal console in your quarters will provide you access to our library files, I hope you find them useful in your endeavors."

She paused in front of a turbolift and waited for it to arrive. Once inside she called out their destination, the Main Bridge, and looked back to the new Lieutenant.

"With regard to my... feelings... You're very perceptive Counselor, I wasn't expecting that. Most humanoids don't know how to judge my people's emotions, at least not based on the outside. Then again, you have an advantage that other humanoids don't have, don't you?"

She followed the Lieutenant into the lift and nodded as she listened to the woman's words. She felt a slight relief to know that she would have access to the files in her own quarters. It beat trying to share space in a small room within the medical quarters while trying to review files.

A small smirk crept onto her face with the admission of the woman's observations. She couldn't help the slight feeling of pride as she listened to the woman's question. It only lingered a moment for just as she was about to speak, the turbo lift doors opened and she let the face of duty overcome her. She turned her eyes to the woman next to her and held her gaze for a moment as she let her voice drift into the Lieutenant's head.

'perhaps I do have an advantage, depends on how you look at things'

"After you Lieutenant" she said with a straight face that showed none of the mixed emotions that coursed through her.

A smirk crossed M'Rowl's feline face and she tapped her Enlisted pips.

"Yeomen, Counselor. I'm afraid I never attended Starfleet Academy."

She straightened her uniform jacket, looking away from the Counselor for a moment, unsure what exactly to say to her. The moment soon passed and she returned her gaze to the new Officer.

"As Captain's Yeomen I am generally responsible for keeping the Captain's daily schedule straight. I draw up a lot of the generalized paperwork, none of the eyes only information just ship's records and the like. I've been with him for a very long time, since he was teaching at the Academy. He is one of the most... humanlike humans I've ever had the pleasure to know."

M'Rowl found herself smiling, despite herself. She quickly rectified that situation and continued.

"I suggest you take a closer look at the Captain's personnel file, he may be in need of your services, Counselor."

Before she had a chance to respond the doors to the lift opened up onto the Bridge. Yeomen M'Rowl stepped out and motioned towards a set of doors nearby.

"The Captain is in his ready room."

The lift doors opened, and Yeomen M'Rowl and the new counsellor exited. Uvek nodded politely in their direction, waited for them to move toward the captain's ready room, and ushered McTavish in.

McTavish felt the grin trying to split his face as Yeoman M'Rowl left the turbo lift. He knew his attraction for the enlisted woman was one sided, or so he hoped, enlisted and officer relationships were a no no in Star Fleet. McTavish barely remembered his etiquette as the Lieutenant passed by.
"Welcome aboard Lieuten.....", McTavish felt that all too familiar tightening of his spine that screamed Telepath. He tried to cover his falter with a smile as he moved into the turbo lift just ahead of Uvek.

she smiled as she watched the falter in the woman's emotions. There was a hint of irratation that played in her eyes before she looked away. Rea's head tilted just a slight as the woman looked back at her. It sent a slight shiver over her skin at the loyalty she picked up from the woman's emotions that momentarly poured off her like rain when she spoke of the Captain. It showed that she may enjoy her time on this ship, if the rest of the crew showed this kind of loyalty to him.

She took note of the woman's suggestion to review the Captain's file. She'd never been on a ship where the Captain is in need of her kind of assistance, but at least she'd been given a heads up. As she stepped off the lift with the Yeoman, she nodded to her in acknowledgment of her suggestion.

With a nod to Uvek and McTavish she took note of the fact that all she could read off Uvek was static. It was like white noise on a television. She knew that with a little effort and focus she may be able to read him, but it was a gamble. Romulans had always been a difficult race for her. McTavish on the other hand she picked up the brief nervous fear from him and had to control herself from chuckling. The man was clearly lusting for the Yeoman, but it was his fear that she found entertaining. She couldn't wait to explore his files and try to find out what would cause it.

After her moment of thought she smiled at M'Rowl as she stepped past her.

"Thank you. I have enjoyed our conversation." she said as she walked past the woman and stood outside the Captain's ready room doors awaiting her permission to enter.

The Yeomen smiled as she replied,

"It was enjoyable Counselor. If you'll excuse me."

With that, M'Rowl vanished into the daily bustle of activity aboard the Hartington, leaving the Counselor waiting outside of the Captain's Ready Room. She did not, however, need to wait for very long. After a few seconds the Captain's voice called out from the small panel next to the hatch.

"Come in."

As the doors slid open she walked into the Captain's ready room and stood at an eased attention, hands held behind her back. Few knew it, but it was her most comfortable stance.

"Lieutenant Zeara reporting in for duty Captain"

Captain Brennon stood and stepped around the desk. He smiled warmly as he offered his hand to the new Counselor.

"Counselor, welcome aboard the Hartington. Did you find your way up here alright?"

With a soft smile she shook his hand taking note in the firm grip with which he used. A person's handshake told a lot about them, and was glad to know the strength of his character.

"Thank you sir." she said as returned to her previous stance.

"Yes I found my way rather well with the help from my escort. You have quiet a loyalty from Yeomen M'Rowl."
