ACTION

The Science station chirped to life as the sensors exclaimed that they had found something. An uncharted spacial anomaly in this well traversed sector. At the same time, Tactical receives an alert on the comnet that a Breen Raider has been spotted in the Yeager's vicinity. Several ships have been reported missing within three light years the Yeager's current position.

Walters put his full attention to the situation with a renewed vigor.
He eagerly attended to his controls

"Mr. Azmay, we have received a reported sighting of a Breen Raider in this area." As he speaks, he initiates a long range scan of the area. A little unfamiliar with tactical readouts, he pauses a moment.

"Long range scan shows no sign of them at this time. However, they may be related to the missing ships in this area. There are a couple of transport ships traveling through the area and a science vessel on its way to the Badlands."

"Good, Mr. Walters. Please raise shields, just in case. We are going to approach the space anomaly, carefully. I would like to have it charted. Let's consider the possibility of either the Breen or the anomaly being responsible for what has been happening in this sector"

ACTION

The Yeager soared in the direction of the anomaly, sensors taking in a great deal of data about the phenomena. After 30 minutes of gathering sensor data tactical picks up a distress call. A civilian ship, the Hilo reports being under attack from a Breen Raider. Science reports the call is coming from approx. 3 Light Years distant.

OOC: Can anyone help me with Warp speed? How much faster is Warp 1 than Warp 2, etc...?

OOC: Can Azmay act on that information, or should I wait for someone to say 'The sensors are picking..."?

"Take us to the Hilo. Balance speed and safety, Mr. Walters"

OOC: Until I manage to understand the Warp / Time of Travelling ratio, I'm afraid I'm going to say things like these... I'm a philologist and my knowledge of things like physics is a bit rusty, so be patient with me. Smile

"We should be able to be at maximum warp for up to 12 hours in one jump, Sir." Walters said, as his fingers danced about the helm's controls.
"Course plotted. At warp factor 9.7, we should get there in approxiamately Eleven hours, Sir."

[Edit: my calculations were incorrect, fixed times]

Azmay leaned down on es chair, damming the reasons why e had pay so much attention to es biology and zoology lessons, and so little to es astrophysics lessons.

"Will that be enough to help the Hilo, Mr. Walters?"

Walters shakes his head." I doubt we will get there in time to help the battle. Even the highest recorded warp speeds would put us there in just over three hours twenty minutes." He eyed his console grimly. "Best we can hope for is to be there to help pick up the pieces."

Azmay's eyes harden: "In that case, maximum warp, Mr. Walkers. Once we get there, put us on yellow alert. Switch to red alert as soon as the Breen are in our sensors. Let us hope for the best."

"Warp engines engaged. ETA 10 hours 8 minutes.".
The quick saber-class vessel vibrated slightly as the engines powered up and gave that familiar 'Woosh' sound as it entered high warp.

Settling himself in for the long journey to the Hilo, Mehv pulls up information about the Hilo and standard raider configurations. He ran a few simulations to determine their odds if having to face-off with a Breen raider.

Periodically Mehv initiates a focused scan of the area to which they are headed, trying to get further information about what is occurring there.

"Mr. Azmay, long range scans indicate the Hiro is taking quite a beating. The raider so far has not let up. While likely the raider will be able to complete its attack before we arrive, I do not believe they will be able to escape without a cloak. I don't have enough experience to know if a vessel that size will support cloaking technology.

I suggest we modify our power signature to more closely mirror that of a smaller vessel. This will hopefully entice them to try to face us.

I have ensured that our shields are setup to repel the Breen energy dampening weapon, so we should be able to withstand their attack for some time."
