I've added USS Columbus and USS Savannah to the list. Just wanted to see what everyone thought of these names.

Out of those choices, I'm also rather partial to the USS Archer. I think it just has a ring to it. I'm not overly fond of "Starblazer", simply because it doesn't characterize the ship much. All star ships "blaze stars" after all. It's almost redundant. And the "cutlass" one just got the "Pirate named Bates" limerick running through my head. Rolling Eyes Just what I needed.

But I like Archer for two reasons... okay, three. 1) It commemorates a specific person. 2) It has a nice image to it; the proud Archer drawing his bow skyward. 3) It sounds nice. Smile

I respectfully withdraw StarBlazer. We have plenty of good names to choose from at this point lol Instead id like to submit Starblazer for the name of a Nova or Oberon NPC ship we may encounter later on. She is part of our fleet but she got here and headed out ahead of us. Deep explorer/scout type duty.

I personally think Starblazer is a great Runabout name! Just a thought.

I am going to close the discussion here and open the official poll for the name of the ship. The top three names discussed here (Archer, Guardian and Columbus) will be listed on the poll.
