Calodan laughs. All three men had definitely been thinking the same things.
"Most definitely. I wouldn't want to be Lt. Zeara on this tour. She is definitely has her work cut out for her. She does have an intrinsic skill at helping troubled people though, being Betazioid." He finished his drink and debated having a third. Checking the chrono, and knowing he was going to have to be at his absolute best tomorrow, he decided to take his leave.
"Besides," he thought to himself, "I have something to perk up even if I don't get any sleep."
"Alright gentlemen, I have to be in the Shuttlebay at 0800 tomorrow. So do you Mack. We should both get some sleep, it is going to be a rough mission." He stood from the table, gave the bartender a nod on his way out and headed directly for his quarters. _________________

"Good Night Jim." McTavish paused as LT Calodan left the lounge.
"Alright Xavier, Nice to meet you. And don't worry your secret is safe with me. I'm a receiver, Not at a transmitter. I can feel you and our new councilor from about five feet away, and its like biting tin foil. Pardon me for not shaking hands but I find it makes it much worse."
McTavish looks to the bartender. "Looks like tonight is a night for memories, bring me a beer." MacTavish looks back to Croft, "My Sister Bree had all the Talents." _________________

"Most definitely. I wouldn't want to be Lt. Zeara on this tour. She is definitely has her work cut out for her. She does have an intrinsic skill at helping troubled people though, being Betazioid." As Calodan finished the statement, Croft got a brief flash of a hypospray. strange
"Alright gentlemen, I have to be in the Shuttlebay at 0800 tomorrow. So do you Mack. We should both get some sleep, it is going to be a rough mission."
Croft stood as he left, then sat back down.
"I just find that once people find out I can read minds, I'm not very popular anymore. I'm a much better empath anyway, I can sense mood till the sun goes down, but reading thoughts is always hit or miss. I don't have to be a mind reader to sense that Bree is a sore spot for you," He left it open so Mac could just drop it if he didn't want to talk. _________________

McTavish smiled as he sipped his beer. "Bree was special, but no more so than Brandon, my father or Malcolm, my oldest brother. Each in their own way. But I was very much closer to Bree"
McTavish pressed a button on the PADD and slid it to Croft. The PADD showed the following list.
*Dr Brandon McTavish - Captain - Medical Officer USS Tolstoy. 2316 - 2367 KIA/MIA Battle of Wolf 359.
LT Malcolm McTavish - Engineering Officer USS Bellerophon. 2339-2367 KIA/MIA Battle of Wolf 359.
LT Bree McTavish - Security USS Kyushu 2340-2367 KIA/MIA Battle of Wolf 359.*
"Between Mother and Father's side of the family, you can add 4 more uncles and 1 aunt, and enough cousins that didnt have the heart to add them."
McTavish grinned with pride,"My family has been apart of the military as far back as the 100 years war on ancient earth." _________________

Croft nodded, pondering how much he wanted to give, what the hell
"I can relate a little to what you are feeling," Croft paused for a while, "My fiance was a Science officer on the Odyssey, which I'm sure you know, was lost at Wolf 359." Another pause," My family has a history with Starfleet since the days of the old NX Enterprise, so I know a little about the pressure to follow the family tree." Croft decided he didn't need to let his father out of the bag, that one was just to much. _________________

Into the room stepped a figure unseen aboard the Hartington in the past few days. Korax, son of Dunar, Lieutenant in the Klingon Defense Forces and the Hartington's resident Klingon attache. He made his way through the sparsely populated room, glaring at several of the crewmen who dared to look at him. After a slow saunter, he sat himself down at a table -- one with a view of the whole room of course -- and waited to be served. _________________

Croft glanced up as the Klingon entered, oh boy he'd completely forgotten about the attache' to the klingon empire, well, with my history, we'll either end up best friends or trying to kill each other He smiled. _________________

McTavish winced before holding his glass up,"To the Odyssey. To the Tolstoy. The Bellerophon. The Kyushu. To all that we lost that day." _________________

Croft raised his glass, "To all that we lost, and all that we hope to gain." He drained it in one gulp.
"Well Mack, I think Mr. Calodan is right. I think I'll try to catch some sleep," he glanced over at the Klingon, " I have had entirely too much alcohol to be anywhere near a Klingon, I tend to say the wrong things, and as good as I am hand to hand combat, I still lose at least half the time when I fight a Klingon." He grinned then left the bar.
OOC Got an early morning folks, have fun without me and can't wait to read about it next week! _________________

McTavish grinned as Mr Croft stood and turned to leave.

In flawless Klingon, McTavish answered,"We seem to have much in common, Sir."
McTavish watched Croft depart the lounge. McTavish eyes slid around the room to settle on the Klingon attache. He kept staring at LT Korax until he noticed. _________________

With out breaking his stare, McTavish motioned to the Bartender, "Send a glass of Targ's Milk to LT Korax. With my compliments."
McTavish's all night, friendly grin, turned feral. _________________

Cadet Ázmay stepped into the room, and sat down on a table, at a discreet distance of both the Klingon attaché and Ensign Liam McTavish.
How much e wished for the Zethny to meet Klingons... it would be a valuable lesson for both species. In fact, es wish for that meeting was only equaled by es desire for the Ab-Loraben to meet Vulcans, Betazoids... and half the Federation species.
Es people, the Loraby proper, were adjusting well to meeting other peoples, but e felt conflicting feelings about es cousin peoples. They needed to get out of Lorab, and met other sentient beings... in fact, Azmay had received word from es progenitor, Fastat, that there were some Ab-Loraben and Zethny voices in Lorab asking for a revocal of Lorab's membership in the Federation.
Lorabyn politics, which so far had been very smooth, were becoming highly complex.
When approached by the waiter, e asked for a Lorabyn beverage called sofoil milk -the composition for which e had given to the computer on es very first day of service- and smiled slighty when the round glass (similar to an ancient Earth cognac cup, but bigger) was brought to em, filled to the rim with a glassy, white-translucent liquid.
Indeed, sofoil milk was one of the best things in the universe... Azmay sipped the liquid, and let es three minds race freely against each other, inside es head. E relaxed... |

Korax's eyes narrowed as the waiter approached him with the viscous yellowish-white substance. The waiter's words were lost in the hum of the background noise... the same could not be said for the Klingon Lieutenant however.
"You expect me to drink this? Return only of you have something drinkable... jaH DoH!"
With that, he batted the glass from the waiter's hands, the man himself stumbling over his his own feet as he backed away from the suddenly aggressive Klingon.
Korax lowered himself back down into his chair, his dark eyes settling on McTavish. _________________

McTavish pushed his half full glass of beer away and stood straightening his uniform tunic, never letting his eyes leave those of LT Korax. McTavish walked slowly to the table, ignoring the hush that fell over the room.
"You spilled your Milk, Sir." A feigned look of compassion crossed McTavish face. "I thought it best for your delicate digestion." The grin returned, "Or has your arm grown to weak to hold a glass." _________________
