Sure he did! I started another thread showing off my tats.

At least your butterfly has a good story about it. Most girls get butterflies because they're "cute".

Nah, I'm not really into "cute". Not on a permanent "let's put this on my body" way anyway. I like the ones that have something to do with the person wearing them, like the ones you chose in your thread. Don't get me wrong, I still love my teddy bear. And I can't pass by a kitten with ease, but I'm just not willing to decorate myself with "cute" unless there's a damn good reason. My Dad was a good reason.

She (tattoo woman) may have tattoos that stand for some crappy stuff, but all I have to say is this:

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

It may not be my religion, but its good advice none the less.

I'm sorry, but compared to Sandra Bullock his latest "conquest" could have been left in the compost.....please...no comparison, tats or no...

and yes, MY Man points are firmly intact! A real man knows how to treat a lady and defer to her whenever decisions need to be made, or arguments need to be avoided, or love needs to be shown, or garbage needs to be carried, or lawns need to be mowed, or.....

anyway, Dunno where you guys went with the tats thing, but PLEASE, HE'S MARRIED TO FRIEKEN SANDRA BULLOCK! WHAT A TOOL!

He's just another man in the list of WTF. Tiger Woods married a super model, wasn't good enough. It's been a few years, but Kobe Bryant cheated on one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. The list could go on. I think it just shows that money, fame, and testosterone are a bad combination 4 out of 5 times.

The tattoo thing came from the fact that Alaina and I didn't know anything about what kind of "trashy" person she is and we didn't know what the issue with her personally was.

On a side note, deferring to your wife does not keep your man points intact. Learning the benefits of compromise, however does. Taking out the trash or mowing the lawn? Outdated models of masculinity? No, these things a man does not make. You got it right with the how to treat a lady remark though. Women are our equals and in a relationship we treat them as partners, not delicate creatures to be protected. Women have a lot more strength than we men do if you ask me and the vast majority or them are smarter, well I guess not having to deal with testosterone poisoning helps.

What a nice sentiment, Darling. For all my jokes about kicking his butt and 'wearing the pants', and 'get me a soda', I completely agree about the "equals" thing. Any woman who would push her husband around or attempt to dominate him emotionally (or physically. It happens more than people realize) is just as bad as any man who does it to his wife. You hear a lot about "wife beaters" in the world, but the abuse runs on both sides.

We have a pretty reasonable setup I think. He does the laundry because I literally have a panic attack every time I try to go into the basement (it terrifies me down there!) and I do the dishes because the dish soap aggravates his skin. He makes messes, I give him a dirty look, he cleans them up. I make messes, he doesn't notice, I eventually clean it up when it bugs me too much.

I'm not sure about the "smarter" comment though. I'd say it's equal there, too, but women do get a bad rap for being stupid thanks to people like Sarah Palin and Lindsey Lohan. They make us all look bad.

You will be glad to know that in this building, my wife is Maintenance Manager. She does cut the lawn (with the new zero turn we were able to buy, thank God), and take out the trash, and change sinks and toilets and work the work. My comments were related to our personal apartment. I strive to help her take a break from all that when I can. She's not only talented at it, having built houses and standing buildings from scratch in the past, but she is one of only 2 managers in our national company that received a 99% rating from HUD in their Physical inspection, which earned us 3 years freedom from such inspections.

Do I feel threatened? NO. My man points are very much intact. I'm learning with you Tom, to be very careful how I word things, though probably I will never quite avoid the friendly corrections......and unfortunately, my attempt at humor seems to have fallen flat. I think this whole line of conversation is going in an unfortunate direction.

Very Happy

I'm saddened that you would put a former successful governor (despite the differences in politics she was quite successful, and enjoyed a better than 90% approval rating in her home state for a reason), with a dingbat like Lindsey Lohan.....but please, let us avoid that discussion here! LOL

still....I'm proud of my wife and grateful she does all that. We make a great team and cook for each other, and share the chores. For myself, I don't let her shovel driveways or snowblow, or push mow, just because I don't think its fair or right. It bothers me to see her work that hard and I won't let her. On the other hand, she helps me in the office when I need it and we are well balanced.

I gotta say I agree with my husban. I have no problem working my job. In fact I have done this work for years. He's good at what he does and I am good at what I do which is how we got this job. We work well together and he is a strong and smart man. I don't know how some woman are but I like him taking out the trash and helpng me when he can. It make sme appreciate him more and since we live together every day any little thing helps to keep us close.

Besides that I can't say anything good about someone who cheats on their spouse for any reason. It's just wrong.

I was just saying I'm against abusive relationships and common stereotypes related to them... I'm not sure why everyone got so defensive all of a sudden. All I saw was glorious woman praise. Okay with me. Wink

And Uvek, your humor was taken as humor. I'm not sure why you thought it wasn't. Tom just took the conversation in a more serious direction after that. You made a joke using stereotypes, so he addressed those stereotypes by talking about them seriously. You both made the same point!

That's the last time I get into a serious discussion here because there seems to be a lot more reading between the lines than I'm comfortable with. I'm against abusive relationships. There's my point in a nut shell. I won't bring it up again.

Well folks, I know I'm a little late to this party, but here is my photo of the real me. It's a bad photo (in my opinion) as it's my staff photo for my press badge. The only difference now is just a little less hair. Very Happy

Hey, I love drawing bald guys. People underestimate the beauty of the human cranium. And you look like a sweetie. Smile

Uh oh... someone just lost some man points.
