Uvek watched the Commander disappear, then turned to listen to the interaction between the captain and Dr. Kiv. The captain had wasted no time arriving; testament to his care for the crew, and affinity for Commander Qech in particular.

He was silent until addressed, sure that the captain would want to know everything, but having nothing to give. His thoughts turned to the Commander. He had gained deep respect for her leadership and calm spirit in the short time aboard, particularly in face of the past action. It would be difficult if something serious was happening and they would lose her from the crew. He deliberately calmed himself, and stood by to report.

Qech could swear she heard voices, but they were indistinct and distant. She tried to open her eyes, but they were so heavy, and her mind just didn't seem to want to bring her back to reality yet. She fought against the temptation to fall back to sleep, and forced her eyes open slowly.

She was surprised to find herself in sick bay. She recognized the lights overhead.

How did I get here?

She raised a shaking hand to her head, which was pounding, and the bridge of her nose hurt. It felt like someone had taken sandpaper to her skin.

What the hell happened?

Hearing the Commander's voice in her head, she looked in her direction. She watched as she struggled to open her eyes, and a very shakey hand found it's way to her head.

"Commander?" she asked as she walked to the bed she was laying on. "Doctor, she's... awake. Partially at least."

"Commander? Doctor, she's... awake. Partially at least."

The voice sounded like it was being spoken through water, but Qech could make out what was being said. She turned her head to the Counselor, a confused expression on her face. It took a few seconds before she found her voice, which was weak and scratchy.

"Counselor?" She blinked the fog out of her eyes. "What happened?"

(OOC: I hope I'm not out of line here, butI have taken the liberty of moving Uvek down to sickbay, so as to progress from there).

Curiousity got the better of the Security Chief. He had to know what was happening. The captain had told Dr. Kiv about the Trill homeworld uprising, the Commander's pregnancy and worse still, the loss of her fiance. The Romulan's heart sunk. He had returned to the turbolift and moved to sickbay while the discussion progressed. As he entered the medical ward he heard the Commander's voice, weak but unmistakeable.

"Counselor? What happened?"

The voice brought a smile to his face, which seemed mirrored by the others as well. In respect for the professionals working on her, he hung back and listened.

(OOC:: Edited to keep Captain Brennon and Dr. Kiv in Commander Qech's quarters.....thanks for the clarification cap)...

Location: USS Hartington Bridge
Character: Lt. Calodan

After the Captain had left the bridge to see to Commander Qech, Lt. Calodan was left in command. He desperately wanted to leave the Bridge and get to his quarters and get the shakes he was currently experiencing under control. Mentally, he had started a list of relatives and relatives of former hosts that were still on Trill that he needed to check on. He also needed to contact his father on Jupiter Station to make sure the Trill half of his family was ok.

Besides that, he was also worried about Commander Qech. He had heard the calls for medical personnel for her and seen the log of the emergency transport of her to sickbay, but had no idea what was happening. As the only other Trill on the ship, he was sure the two of them were going through similar emotions over the news.

(OOC: The Captain and Doctor Kiv aren't moving, you may move Uvek if you like. I haven't had the chance to post and I want to get something across with Kiv and the Captain. I'll post when I have the chance.)

Smiling as she heard the Commander's voice, though rough and weak, it was still a comfort to know she was waking up.

"I am not sure on the details Commander, but you collapsed into unconsciousness. The injury you are feeling on your head, is a result of it."

She offered a soft smile. "I can gather the details from your own subconscioius if you'd like, or we can await the details from the Doctor."

"I can gather the details from your own subconscioius if you'd like, or we can await the details from the Doctor."

A tear rolled down her cheek as she spoke, but her voice was level, if a bit weak. "I remember... I remember speaking with the Captain. I just have no idea how I got here. I don't remember collapsing." She closed her eyes for a few minutes and swallowed, obviously fighting back tears. "There was a riot on my homeworld. A lot of people were killed..."

For a moment it looked as though she wasn't going to continue. Tears were streaming, uninhibited, down her face when she spoke again. "I'm pregnant. And my fiance is dead."

feeling the Commander's emotions well off her in waves, she did the only thing she really knew how to do in this situation. She took the commander's hand in her own, the way a mother would to comfort a child.

"I am truely sorry for your loss Commander. I can only imagine the stress you must be under given what has happened. If there is anything I can do to help, you will let me know?"

She turned to the Counselor and nodded, biting her bottom lip to once again try and quell the tears. "Right now I just feel like I need to sleep." She raised her hand to her forehead, flinching when she accidentally touched the reddened abrasion on her forehead. "If I hit my head I know I shouldn't though... Especially if I want to. For now I wouldn't mind someone just keeping me awake." She smiled at the betazoid, grateful for her company, and her understanding. "Thank you."

Uvek listened to the Commander and the Counselor talking, and knew his task was over. His concern aside, he had duties to perform. He turned to Dr. Newell.

"Thank you for your prompt response, Dr." he said simply. "I will return to the bridge, as there appears to be little I can do here."

McTavish walked onto the bridge and knew something was wrong. No Captain, No Xo, No Uvek at Tactical, Calodan standing near the captains chair but staring off into space and his hands shacking.
McTavish recognized the signs of onset of shock, on most of the bridge crew.
"LT Woods, to the Bridge." McTavish turned to LT Calodan,"Sir? LT Calodan?", Finally McTavish could see recognition retuning to Jim's eyes.
"LT Calodan, Its Ensign McTavish, I am relieving you of command. You are in shock. Ensign zh'Rel will escort you to your quarters. LT Woods is on her way to man Operations."

"Thank you Ensign, but you cannot relive a superior officer of command without the backing of the CMO. I am actually doing alright at the moment, just a bit distanced." He takes his seat in the big chair. "If you'll take your station Ensign, we need to continue on course to meet our deadline with the Guardian."

He paused for a second and sighed. "Thank you for your concern Ensign. It is my duty to take command should the CO and XO be indisposed, as they currently are. No matter my personal situations, duty comes first."

(OOC actually my being in the Command chain of command I can relieve you. Thats the point of a Bridge watch officer. The Watch Officer can fill ANY bridge roll in an emergency. Co is not here, Xo is not here, 2nd Officer is under durress. At this point position supersedes rank. But if you like i can edit out my post??)

Location: Bridge, USS Hartington
Stardate 53781.56
Character: Ensign McTavish

McTavish moved to the Command Console, "Computer, record. Stardate 53781.56: Ensign McTavish has relieved LT Calodan as Duty Officer. End recording. Ensign Phell report? Whats happening on my Ship?"
McTavish couldnt help but lit a grin slip as the words he had always wanted to say slipped passed his lips.
