"It is Ensign Koa Tanay reporting. It is seen e is on er way to the Security Office, from er morning training session." |

"Yes Commander. If you've give me a hand, we can move McTavish and Croft into the Turbolift and then Ensign Phell and send it to Deck 7. I'll be happy to assist you crawling through the jeffries tubes."
Qech gave Calodan a pitying look. "That's not going to work, Lieutenant. The turbo lifts are out, remember?"
We need to find a way to get these people to sickbay. There's no way they could crawl down a jefferies tube.
"Should we use the transporters, Commander? Seems to me to be a better use of our time than crawling about the jefferies tubes."
Qech hadn't overheard Uvek's suggestion about the transporters, and so hearing them being brought up as an option brought with it a wave of relief. "Absolutely. Beam the injured directly into sickbay, starting with the Captain." _________________

Uvek looked back to see Commander Qech coming up behind him. She looked all right but tired. Others came after her, no sign of Phell.
He looked back to Lt. Ghan and said, "IF that is the route you take, I want to be beamed directly to Deck 9, please. I can put our security staff to work as auxiliary medical personnel." His face hurt, but the realization that the ship was down and vulnerable hurt more. How could the sensors miss that...whatever it was? What was next? He thought.
Tactically, the situation was a mess, and he needed to pull his people together and gain control of something.
(OOC: No one on this level, or outside security knows about the intruder, I am assuming)... _________________

"IF that is the route you take, I want to be beamed directly to Deck 9, please. I can put our security staff to work as auxiliary medical personnel."
Qech nodded. "Good idea, Lieutenant. No doubt with this many injuries they'll have set up a medical triage by now. Your injuries aren't life threatening so it would be awhile before you received medical attention anyway." She put an arm out to steady a swaying Calodan, and continued. "Have your team sweep the ship. With things this bad on the bridge, there are bound to be a lot more injured, even tucked away in unlikely places. Send any head Trauma victims to sick bay... Those injuries can be much worse than they look." _________________

The Romulan nodded. "Uvek to Goldman," he called out. "As soon as the captain has been transported to sickbay, take me to deck 9, as close to the security office as you can. Any security personnel on the shuttle deck are to begin tricorder sweeps outward and moving people to your location for additional triage." _________________

Startled by the intruder, Smith ran back to the Office, locked the automatic door, and activated an intruder alert.

(OOC: There are a few problems with this post my friend. Firstly, your light duty was several months back in game time. He would have been removed from light duty by this point. Secondly, when you insert things like this into the story, please check with the CO or XO first. We're following a story and while things that get thrown into the mix can be fun for the story they can also throw a wrench into the works of what we've got going on. As I said at the beginning of the thread, I sent out info for select players who would have received info about the issue at hand. If you didn't get any info then you can have your character not knowing what's going on and still adding to the story by trying to find out. Game hosts are the only one with permission to use the ACTION command.) _________________

Location: Somewhere on Deck 9, near the Security Office
Character: Ensign Koa Tanay
Breathing deeply, Koa Tanay tried to remember the postures of the Way of Temperance. E needed to relax, to think, to take the iniciative. All at once. E stopped, breathed deeply, and let er craneal fin swoon, tasting the scents in the air.
"Lots of Humans. Other Humanoids. Panic. Confusion. Blood."
E folded er arms across er chest, began to breath rythmically, and traced with er hands the postures of Temperance, as e wordlessly recited the Warrior's Lethany.
Master Skyar would have felt proud of er, had e been still alive. E took control of er breathing, of er heartbeat, of most of er other biorythms, and, as clear as a ray of sunlight breaking the clouds, knew what e had to do.
E slithered towards the Security Officer, and stood there. Sooner or later an officer of higher rank would pass by. And then e would report erself, and would be able to feel erself useful. |

OOC: Totally had plans for the turbolifts not actually being working! Calodan is totally out of it and is making bogus suggestions and comments due to his head wound. Can't be perfect all the time, can we?
IC:
Location: USS Hartington, Main Bridge, Aft Bulkhead near the jefferies tubes.
Character: Calodan
Qech gave Calodan a pitying look. "That's not going to work, Lieutenant. The turbo lifts are out, remember?"
"But sir..." he started then looked to the turbolift. The doors were closed, lights dim. He could swear he remembered restoring power to the lift...maybe this headwound was worse then he thought. "Commander, I...sorry. I'm more out of it then I thought. I'll report back to the Bridge as soon as Dr. Kiv clears me." All of the sudden he realized his heart was racing and the edges of his vision were getting a bit blurry. "If you don't mind Commander, I'm going to have a seat over there until they are ready to transport me." Caldoan leaned against a bulkhead and slid to the floor. His head was pounding in time to his heart. His earlier tricorder scan had showed a fracture of his skull, right where he had hit the console. He gently leaned his head back against the bulkhead and closed his eyes. _________________

(OOC: Let's try this again... maybe without deleting Calodan's post... bad Captain!
I think it was a case of the story moving too fast. I totally missed your post about the lifts working. Shall we continue like it was a concussion induced delusion as you're making it? I was about to have Ghan transport everyone on the Bridge to sickbay or to wherever they wanted to go in Uvek's case... everyone seems to need to be looked at. I also want to get the story moving past this.) _________________

((OOC ; I read the posts as if the bridge crew is already in the tubes, but there is some discussion that we haven't entered them yet, so yes, I vote that we start from the moment of transport and go from there to clear up any confusion.....I for one am totally LOST...is there no alien in the brig? Was that also an impact-related delusion? GREAT adventure tho!).... _________________

(OOC: No big deal all, we were all a little lost for a moment. Remember to post where you're character is from now on now that many of us are separated.)
ACTION
The transporter takes hold of everyone on the Bridge and deposits them for a few moments onto the Columbia's Transporter Pad. Moments later all but Lieutenant Uvek arrive in the chaos that is the Hartington's sickbay. Uvek himself appeared in the Armory, surrounded by several of his off duty Security personnel.
Lieutenant Ghan helps bring the Captain's unconscious form over to a biobed, coincidentally right next to Doctor Kiv who was at that moment undergoing surgery by the ship's EMH.
The holographic doctor looks over to the Captain for a moment, followed by a glance to Ghan and then to Commander Qech. She quirks a brow and looks to one of the other Medical Personnel next to her.
"We're nearly done here, Corpsmen. Get Doctor Kiv into the burn regeneration unit and then start work with Doctor Fastaten."
"Yes, Doctor." came the tech's reply as she moves Kiv away.
The EMH turns her attention to the Captain's prone form and begins initial scans. Directing her voice to Qech, she begins questioning the First Officer.
"What can you tell me, Commander?" _________________

Location: USS Hartington Sickbay
Character: Calodan
After the brief disorientation that was the transporter, Calodan was glad to have solid deck under his feet. He quickly found a stable wall to lean against and used it as a prop, waiting his turn until more serious patients were taken care of. _________________

Character: Lt. Commander Qech
Location: Hartington sickbay
"What can you tell me, Commander?"
Qech looked down at the unconscious form of the Captain, and back toward the EMH. "Massive Trauma to the head, with several skull fractures forward of the frontal lobe. I gave him a dose of inpendrezine, but he lost consciousness within 15 minutes. The cuts were too deep for the dermal regenerator, so they're only partially healed."
She looked over to Calodan. "The Lieutenant's case is similar. Direct hit to the front of the head. But his concussion is only slightly less serious; major swelling, and he's experiencing an overdose of inpendrezine as well. He tried to administer it to himself when he was disoriented." _________________

Mavers came up to his security chief, surprise and relief on his face.
"Sir, good to see you!" he said, then, "What happened? Are you all right?"
Uvek nodded, looking around the room. There was Smith, Koester, and several others. Finally, he had a focus on something other than his pain. He gratefully moved into action.
"ATTENTION!" He bellowed to calm the room and focus his men. "The Hartington has impacted some form of spatial anomaly. We do not know what type, nor why sensors did not detect it. However, there are many wounded and confused personnel all over the ship." He pulled tricorders out of a station locker and moved around the room, handing them out as he went. "As of right now, we are medical personnel and crowd control, find the emergency medkits on each deck and keep people calm."
"Mr. Koester, you are with me, but you won't need that weapon, yet, we are heading to engineering. Mr. Smith, you take a team and head through the Jeffries tubes; check on Ambassador Rolen, and any other officers on the upper decks. Mr. Mavers, take a team to sickbay, they are sure to be overwhelmed by now." He paused looking at his dozen or so officers.
"Transporters on the Columbia will be available, but very busy. Emergency transport only to sickbay. Other lower priorities go to the shuttledeck by way of Jeffries tubes. Any questions? If not, move out!" _________________

Calodan waved weakly towards the EMH. "I also have a small fracture of the frontal bone and temporal bone near my right temple where I hit my head. I'm fine..take care of the others first...".
He took a couple deep breaths to clear out the cobwebs and slow his racing heart. "Commander...I may have a solution to the power problems, but I'm not sure I trust myself in my condition. I want to run it by you, maybe you can run it my Mr. Ghan and see if it would work." A few more deep breaths, then he continued. "The phasers have a system of capacitors to lessen time between shots. These are always charged, even when we're not at red alert, so there should still be power in them. They are tied directly into the main power grid, but AFTER the short. We should be able to trickle that power back into the ship and with some creative..." Calodan's self-control finally was overcome by his OD and head injury and the he passed out against the bulkhead. _________________
