Yeah, I'm pretty much a virgin to the e book phenomenon (the screen starts to fuzz on me after an hour or two). So that's the only program I'm familiar with and it seemed to work well enough for me. But as I said, I'm not a big e book reader, so it seems ok for the casual reader.
But I do appreciate the info on the other program, I will definitely check that out. I think I will check out the above recommended "Titan" book, since TNG was my favorite series. Also, one more question: have they not released any books since '06, or do we just not have "e" access to it yet?
Thanks again, that's a great list. |

Arjim, I just attempted to go to your website to download a book or two, but am receiving the 403 Forbidden error code. I thank you for being willing to host these. Let me know if you are able to get this back up for us. |

I've recently read The Soul Key, the latest in the Deep Space Nine novels... ok not the latest latest, that distinction goes to a recently released novel, The Never Ending Sacrifice. Anyway, The Soul Key finally brings a little bit of closure to the current DS9 story. It leads into how Dax eventually becomes a Captain of her own ship, finishing the Mirror Universe storyline, all sorts of neat stuff. I waited for that book for so long and it really didn't disappoint. Anyone else read it or the other DS9 books? _________________

SORRY NO,
And I'm afraid that may hinder my gameplay a little bit. I did like DS 9 for an overall viewpoint, but some of the stories and specific episodes just got way too detailed and individual for me.
As a rule, I am a Capt. Picard man, and I model uvek after a mix of Picard/spock. I try to see the good in everyone, keep my own counsel, and hit hard when it counts
I think I'm going to stay that way (ignorant) because really, all I have to do is react at present. If I am ever asked to write, resesarch will become key but right now, I'm going to act like an alien member of the crew, and use the separation to inject some tension and character molding.
peace out! |

lets see if I can answer here with out running on and on at the mouth. I have read many of the older novels and a lot of the comics, though only bits and pieces of those flash through my mind. Like Spock separating the saucer section of the enterprise the first time to save the ship. Though I enjoyed all the novels I read the ones that spring to mind most readily are Dreadnought and Battlestations. I really enjoyed the different perspective. And the how would someone that is really nothing more than a cadet react to the heroes of Star Fleet? Also that if you are nice to the computer you dont have to know EVERYTHING about how to drive a star ship. The Computer is your friend.
Im very much interested in getting caught up on my reading of all things Trek so feel free to send along a required reading list for those who have read a lot of the books. |

I'm currently reading the first book of the Star Trek: Vanguard series. Set on a Starbase in the TOS era it's giving me ideas for a game... maybe we'll have to branch out from just the Hartington one day when some of our Junior Officers get a few promotions...
In anycase, Vanguard Book One is called Harbinger and it is set immediately after the Original Series episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before". Klingons, Thollians, political intrigue... good stuff! _________________

I just copied the whole Star Trek: New Earth series over to my phone to read.
FYI, if any of you have an Android phone, you should install Aldiko. Its a great eBook reader and using Calibre on your PC to manage an eBook library is an easy way to work the two together. _________________

I used to love my iPhone for eBooks..but hate it for everything else.
I've gotta say, I am in love with my G1. I've had the entire gambit of smartphones: Windows Mobile, Palm Treo, iPhone, Blackberry, and an Android Phone.
Android is fantastic. The apps are great, the phones are great, and TMobile is fantastic.
Aldiko is a great app for reading eBooks. It has cool features like a Virtual Bookshelf as well as books downloadble over the air. _________________

The HTC Magic (G2) is a nice phone.
The G1s are nice too, and cheaper because they are the "first-gen" phones.
Lots of new Android phones are coming out. There is also the MyTouch 3G which just came out. _________________

Anyone happen to have the ST: Destiny novels as ebooks? Format isnt important, I just haven't read them and am apparently missing out on something big. _________________
