I've just sent them, they're in bbeb format. I've also sent the first book in the post destiny series, one that doesn't fall under any of the usual titles. I highly suggest you read a few of the TNG relaunch (post nemesis) books if you haven't already. They set this trilogy up and are (mostly) fun.
I'd suggest this order:
Resistance
Before Dishonor
Greater Than the Sum
Gods of Night (Destiny 1)
Mere Mortals (Destiny 2)
Lost Souls (Destiny 3)
A Singular Destiny
Loosing the Peace
There are a few other books that are post nemesis, pre destiny, but they don't have anything much to do with the plot. One is called Death in Winter. It is the first book in the post Nemesis series and explains how Crusher comes back to the Enterprise after Nemesis (in the film she is said to be going back to Starfleet Medical), it also deals with her and Picard (FINALLY) starting a relationship. Q&A is the other book that is missing from this list. It is between Resistance and Before Dishonor and deals with Q's ultimate goals for Humanity, the how and the why of every single one of his contacts over the years. It was the TNG 20th Anniversary book and a fun/funny read.
The other books are ok I think. Resistance was the only one of the pre-destiny TNG books I really liked enough to reread. Before Dishonor, written by Peter David (of New Frontier fame) did an alright job... not stellar, not up to the standards I have from reading his other books. He did do one major and lasting thing in this book that I was amazed by... two if you count... well I won't ruin it. Greater Than the Sum has, among other things, the return of Hugh and it sets up the Destiny books. I didn't care for this one... it was kind of out there to me, more so than Before Dishonor (which was far out as is).
All in all you can get by without reading anything else before it... but it may be worth it just to have the flavor in mind when you do. I'd also suggest the whole Titan series to date, possibly even the Voyager relaunch... Destiny covers it all and it's a game changer.

Just picked up the new Voyager Relaunch book, "Unworthy". Haven't started it yet, I'm still trying to make room on my eReader. I'll let you guys know what's what with it when I'm done.

If you're a reader then YES!
I have over 500 books on my eReader, it's like having a library in the palm of my hands.
I highly recommend it to everyone who can get one.

I've used a Kindle DX and have to say they are fantastic, but the DRM on them is evil.
I read all of my books on my cellphone (Im rocking a G1). If you have the extra cash to spend though, a dedicated eBook Reader is AWESOME.

I just started Star Trek: Enterprise: Romulan War Beneath the Raptor's Wing. I have to say that it is FREAKING GREAT! It is also a large book, over 1000 pages long on my E-Reader (it's a trade paperback novel so it's much larger than normal mass market paperback, but the actual page count is much lower, I think like 400 pages. just goes to show you how much text is on one page if my reader has to put it out as over 1000... most normal books that are MMP usually come out to 150-300 pages. That is a lot more info).
We get to learn the official names of the next four NX Class ships early on and we hear talk of the Daedalus class for the first time since the novel of the same name.
I'm enjoying the crap out of it and I'll provide a little more info when I'm done.

I've now officially finished the first 3 titan books...heading full tilt into Sword of Damoclese then going to take on ST: Destiny.
I'm feeling pretty good about the pace I am reading at, seeing as I only read before bed and when I'm on the toilet.
Speaking of reading, what ebook reader do you use Cap'n?

speaking of books, let me ask....what makes a star trek book CANON?
With so many authors out there, are there authors that are "authorized" so to speak to carry on the Star Trek name and thus produce those writings? In other words, how are the writers of these books associated with Star Trek, other than creating works for the various characters?
Just curious.....

I use a Sony eReader PRS 505. I like it because, unlike the Kindle, the Sony eReader can use almost any text file type and eBook file types where the Kindle can only support the Kindle file type, txt files and only SOME PDFs. The Kindle is wireless, but I don't care about that in the end (and the newest Sony eReader is wireless too).

Canon... well this is an interesting question. It depends on what you mean by Canon.
Canon for our game: We pick it. And by we I mean me (later books will be voted on by the Command Council if need be).
If you mean Canon by terms of the Star Trek Franchise, then none of the books are Canon. They are what is called Licensed Works which means that Paramount has allowed Pocket Books to publish a line of stories with their characters and name in it. All books under the Star Trek name must be published by Pocket Books. So anyone that wants to publish a Trek novel must go through Pocket Books. There are no independent Trek Authors out there, as that would be illegal. All of these licensed works fall under what some fans call TrekLit or Novel Continuity. While these works don't necessarily influence Canon (what we see on TV and the Silver Screen) They fall in line with what has been put up there, at times filling in the gaps.
For instance, there is a TOS set of books called "The Lost Years" which tells us what happens between the end of TOS and TMP. Another example, which is more modern and better fits with the current continuity is a TNG set called "A Time To..." which is a series of books (9 all together) that follow the crew of the Enterprise-E for the year leading up to Star Trek Nemesis. It tells us a lot of things like why Data didn't have his emotion chip or why Wes Crusher was at the wedding at the beginning of the film, why Dr. Crusher was leaving the Enterprise again, why Riker FINALLY took a command of his own, etc. It is the best example in my mind of the Modern Continuity Novels expanding the story told on screen.
There are still other novels that tell new stories. Star Trek Titan tells the tale of Captain Riker and his crew on the Titan, New Frontier tells the story of a whole new ship and crew and their adventures. As you can see there is a lot to TrekLit, most of it good in my eyes. The Canon/Continuity question is tough, but when you look at it like this then it should be easer to understand.

Haven't read any reviews, but the specs seem to make it out to be a Kindle with some extra features:
-a touchscreen instead of keyboard
-support for a larger group of formats

I like the look of the Nook, but until prices come down or I can pick up a used Kindle one and hack it, I'm sticking with Aldiko on my phone and Calibre to organize my library on my PC.
