USS Guardian Bridge

Marek wipes yet more life giving emerald liquid from his eyes, I am going to need to be treated soon

"Lieutenant Thomas, take the jeffries tubes to Engineering, make sure everything is being handled." Thomas disappears in a flash, with only a brisk nod to the Captain. He turns to Roekil, "We will need all the advanced warning you can give us if any unfriendly vessels arrive."

Ensign Fontaine slowly awoke from the beating he took when the ship bucked. His head was pounding, and he had a sharp pain in his lower back. After a moment, he begins to realize he can't feel his feet. He shifts his head up, ignoring the flare of pain, and tries to see his feet move. "I can't feel my legs, " He whispers hoarsely, "I can't feel my legs, of God I can't feel my legs!" The last time was almost a scream as he fights back panic.

Marek turned to his helmsman, an unwelcome feeling of panic beginning to rise in his chest. He pushes down his emotion as he runs over to the small wall mounted storage unit that housed the emergence medkit. He knelt down next to the young ensign, pulling out a medical tricorder. "Take it easy, Tom, I am sure Doctor Uroki will be able to heal you." Looking at the tricorder scan, he couldn't help but wonder if he had just lied to his helm officer.

USS Guardian Engineering
Lt, Thomas

Thomas opened the access hatch to the jeffries tube and crawled out, nearly getting run over by a running Ensign. "Sorry." She walked over to the MSD, looking at all the flashing red alarms. "So Mehvra, how bad is it?" She asked, as Ensign Kuplo just finished yelling at a Petty Officer.

USS Guardian Bridge
Captain Marek

"Captain, it looks like internal comms are back up." says the Ensign that replaced Thomas at Ops.

Marek taps his combadge, "Doctor Uroki, medical emergency on the bridge, please respond."

Location: USS Guardian
Character: Dr. Uroki

Uroki had been in the hallway on her way to sickbay when the ship lurched violently, slamming her into the wall. The impact threw her down to the deck, her head pounding. She had no idea how long she had been out when she finally awoke. The sounds of alarms and the flashing of emergency power told her that whatever it was, it had been serious. She tapped her combadge in an effort to get in touch with sickbay. No response.

Uroki heaved herself up from the floor, steadying herself from the wave of vertigo that came with the impact. She shook her head slowly. Her mind was still clear, and she didn't feel any blood. She had to assume the injury was a minor one as she made her way quickly to sickbay. Upon her arrival, she breathed a sigh of relief to hear her combadge chirp to life.

"Doctor Uroki, medical emergency on the bridge, please respond."

Her relief ended the moment she heard the Captain's urgent tone.

She glanced around at sickbay, making sure no one was hurt, and had to consider that the transporters may not be working. She tapped her combadge.

"Sir, what's the status on the transporters? How many are injured?"

She didn't want to waste time in sending a team if the injured could be beamed in.

USS Guardian - Main Engineering
Ensign Mehvra-Kuplo
Lt. Thomas wrote:
So Mehvra, how bad is it?
"Lieutenant, the lack of leadership down here has us a little delayed, but I think the team has organized itself and we are enacting repairs now. As for the damage, the Warp core went into automatic shutdown due to a blown EPS line feeding the main deflector. We should have that restarted in a few minutes. The explosion did cause a hull breach, but we have a team on that as well." Mehv pulls his hand out of a panel with a fried circuit, grabbing a replacement, he reinserts his hand. "Internal communications should be back online, now. One second, please."

Mehv taps his commbadge. "Ensign Mehvra-Kuplo to Sickbay. We have injured in engineering, nothing critical but a medical team would be helpful." After a quick acknowledgement, he continues.

"We should have impulse engines, shields, and weps up shortly after main power. Sensors took a beating with the power surges, it'll probably be 10-15 minutes before we get them up. I'll know more once main power is restored. The main deflector is the worst, sir, it'll be days before we can get it running. And even then, we'll need a ship yard to get it back up to full operation. Until then, the ship will be capable of warp speed, but that is not recommended. While we could modify the shields to protect us from much of the small particles, without the protection of the main deflector, we would eventually hit something that would rip right through us causing a lot more damage."

OOC Sorry folks, my internet went down last night, is still down but hey who needs to work at work anyway? hehe have a spare minute actually.

"Captain, the cargo transporter in cargo bay 2 is still functioning, should be able to make an emergency transport."

"Understood, Doctor Uroki, prepare to receive Ensign Fontaine." Marek stepped back. "Energize." There's several moments of error beeps from the Ops station, then Ensign Fontaine dematerialized, rematerializing in sickbay.

Main Engineering

Thomas nods, "Excellent work Ensign." She grabs a spare toolkit off the wall, "I'll head back to the bridge and start making repairs up there." Thomas climbs back in the jeffries tube and heads for the bridge.

Marek watches as Fontaine disappears, taking a moment to control his emotions. The Ensign at the Ops station grabs a dermal regenerator from the medkit, and begins to repair the cut on Marek's face. "Thank you, Ensign." By the time the Ensign is done, Thomas has returned from Engineering.

"Captain, Ensign Kuplo has organized the engineering team. Main power should be up momentarily, Impulse, Shields and Weapons shouldn't be much behind. Sensors will take at least 10 to 15 minutes. The bad news is the Navigational Deflector, we won't be able to get it back to full capacity without a shipyard, and Ensign Kuplo was hesitant to suggest warp at all."

Marek stands and moves to the command chair, "Thank you Lt., as soon as more solid information is available, we need to determine our exact position and a possible rendevous point for the Tigris." At maximum warp we are at least three weeks from the wormhole, a shipyard may not be an option

ACTION

The crew works diligently nearly non-stop for the next two days. While main power was quickly restored, it takes longer to repair the sensors. At last all the repairs are made, and the Navigational Deflector is cobbled together well enough to dare warp 5 for a short trip to join the Tigris. In sickbay, the Doctor stabilizes Mr. Fontaine, but struggles to come up with a treatment for his injury (IE I'm going to let Uroki post her actions herself). As the Tigris docks with the Guardian, Marek decides to take care of some business before the staff meeting.

"Ensign Kuplo, please report to my readyroom. Mr. Roekil, you have the bridge."

Marek leaves the command chair and enters his ready room.

OOC Senior staff will be gathering at the staff room Roekil will follow Marek and Kuplo when they enter, Uroki is expected unless she calls off for treatment of patients, the entire runabout team including our new guest, Thomas representing Ops, Ensign Tanaka at Flight Ops Lt. Harper will represent science Lenara will be there as well.

USS Guardian - Outside Captain's Ready Room
Ensign Mehvra-Kuplo

Mehv approaches the door with PADD in hand, entering repair reports and notes about the deflector patch-up. The last couple of days have gone very quickly due to the amount of work to be done to the Guardian. Luckily for Mehv, his ability to work for a long time before sleeping has allowed him to work diligently throughout.

He raises his hand to hit the door chime without lifting his head. When called in, the door opens and he steps through, again without lifting his head. Only when he approaches the Captain does he lower the PADD and stand at attention.

"Ensign Mehvra-Kuplo reported as requested, sir!"

USS Guardian, Captain's Readyroom

Marek motioned to the chair in front of his desk, "Have a seat Mehvra." He pauses as Kuplo sits. "As you may have noticed, Chief Roe and I have reached a mutual agreement that it would be best for the ship and the crew if he stepped down as Chief Engineer. This of course leaves a vacancy in the Engineering Department." Marek clasped his hands on the desk, "Your service record has been exemplary, and you have been an indispensable part of the crew, I believe you are the most qualified for the position." Marek pulled a small black box from the desk drawer, "I am entering in the ship's log effective immediately the field commission of Lieutenant and the post of Chief Engineer to be taken by you, Mehvra, if you accept." Marek holds the box out for Kuplo to take.

USS Guardian - Captain's ready-room
Ensign Mehvra-Kuplo

Mehv just stares at the Captain for a few seconds, speechless. He almost drops the PADD he was working with before gathering his wits. Sitting up a little straighter, "Thank you, sir, for your confidence in me. While this is a little faster than I expected, I am excited at the new challenge Chief Engineer will bring."

"Roe is a excellent engineer, his knowledge and skill with the propulsion systems is unmatched. I will count on him in that regard. It did seem that some of the other crew found his leadership a little difficult to work with, however. I think the engineering team should accept me, if the response to the recent crisis is any indication."

Taking the box delicately, Mehv adds, "I'll do my best to meet all the needs of the Guardian and her crew."

USS Guardian Readyroom

Marek nods, "I expect nothing less. If you will accompany me, we have a staff meeting to attend." Marek stands and walks to the door, motioning for Kuplo to follow. He enters the bridge, motioning to Roekil to join them, then enters the staffroom. Several of the crew were already there. Marek took his seat at the head of the table.

OOC I'll give it a bit to allow anyone to post their arrival and I am going to lock the Tigris thread.

Roekil follows the Captain into the staff briefing room and takes his seat at the table. The engineers had had a bit of a fit designing a chair that could support his massive frame, but had finally succeeded.

Talbert enters the staff room. He's pleased to be back upon the Guardian, and especially with the knowledge that the Tal'harton were about. He glanced with some satisfaction at Mehv's new pips and realized that his initial assessment had been correct. It was nice to know that the captain wasn't a man to just sit around when things needed done.

He waved his hand to a seat and watched Dorin gingerly take it. 921 had been returned to sickbay, and Lt. V and the others followed him in.

With a nod he acknowledged Captain Marek and sat down.

Following Talbert into the staff room, she took a seat toward the back as was per her norm, close to the door should anything happen, she wanted to know where her exit was. Though keeping a clam face, she kept her jaw clamped down tightly to hide her anger. She still was a bit peeved that she'd been reprimanded for her actions without a chance to explain them, but that was politics for ya. She'd learned long ago that shooting your mouth off and challenging your superior officers lead only to trouble and de-commissions.

Watching the others come into the meeting, she kept flexing her left hand making sure it had been healed correctly... her race healed faster than some, and she'd had issues in the past with the medical staff not really treating the injuries correctly. So far, she seemed to be fine, but she'd find out after she set the holodeck up to simulate the planet surface and run through the scenario just one more time...
