I'll start us off. My favorite film was First Contact. I don't know why really to be honest. I hate the Borg Queen, and what Voyager did to the Borg killed me inside, but this is where the Borg made a revised appearance.

They were given a scary makeover and I loved it. It established some fun new facts about Star Trek History, it gave us the Enterprise-E, it showed us the Defiant on the big screen and it was Johnathan Frakes' Trek Feature Directorial Debut in which he did very well.

I enjoyed the storyline (sans Borg Queen) and still have one hell of a time watching it. I just absolutely love it.

I am ready to be torn to bits now.

No bit tearing from me...I too loved First Contact. Frakes did an amazing job with it, and Brent Spiner was FANTASTIC. All in all, it gave us a lot of amazing Trek to look at and enjoy and gave us a look at Trek history that we had only gotten a peek at in the past. It was great to see The Big E back and better then ever after Deanna crashed it. See what happens when you let women drive? Razz

Second to First Contact, has to be The Voyage Home. There were greater movies in the TOS run(Khannnnnn!), but the Voyage Home brought a lot of non-Trekkies into the fold. In fact, I think prior to the joke of a movie JJ Abrams put out, it was the highest grossing of any of the ST films to date. The humor in it well balanced the Trek elements, but instead of watering Trek down for a mass audience *coughabramscough* it worked well together.

I thoroughly despised the 09 Abrams wankfest that he dared to label Star Trek. I had VERY high hopes for it...but it was just too much for me. I left the theatre disgusted. *insert lens flare*

I'm voting for Wrath of Khan.

Two reasons: ONE - SPACE SEED
TWO - Ricardo Montalban

His portrayal of Khan Singh was great! The storyline for once was clean and to the point. I could even buy Kirk's son, David.

My favorite spot in that movie was the sense of anticipation on Khan as he lured the Enterprise into a trap....you could see him salivating and he actually gets you into the moment.......FIRE!

His hatred for Kirk was well produced, and they (for once) didn't give in to giving Kirk a kissing scene, or other flimsy, pansy scenes.

Well done. Of course, I love all of them....

Of couse, now it's time for TNG::

First Contact started off well, and even ended well, but PUUULLLEASSE....a Borg Queen? Please. Please.

Then the frakes nightmare of the Sona (what?) sona, what is that some kind of soft drink....oh god......that movie sucked.

finally, they kill off the series with a PICARD CLONE ON REMUS? WHAT? WTF WAS THAT?

I HATED (EMPHASIS ON HATED) HATED THAT LAST MOVIE.../.. Kill off data with B4? Worf losing Deanna Troi to Commander Riker was kinda acceptable (although in the real world, Worf would have torn his head off and S**t down his neck).....but DATA? Why not Geordi, or better still, THAT LOSER BARCLAY!!!!!

Well, I guess I stirred that pot enough, yes?

GENERATIONS....I noticed here that NO ONE even mentioned it. I think in reality even the trekkers knew that this was a "HERE"S THE NEW CREW" thing that didn't really deliver much of anything.

I can hardly remember anything about it, except the champagne bottle floating through space for like, 30 minutes, at the beginning....lol

any way, nuff said.

First Contact all the way. And yeah, I have to agree about the Borg Queen. I hated that character. She had some very strange issues. Robo-sex, fleshy or no, just does not appeal to me.

First Contact - for obvious reasons... To get rid of the nastiest enemy the federation has seen... Classic Good V. Evil

I voted for the new Trek... but that's just because I really enjoy the movie. All things considered, it was an interesting idea, well cast (I'm a Zach Quinto fan!) and very entertaining....

otherwise I would have voted Generations. I LOVED that movie... even more than wrath of Khan, and I grew up watching that movie... along with other movies from the 80's that show just how warped a perception I have.
