Once the Hartington was secure and docked, Smith grabbed his gear, and made his way onto the station. He was informed by Lt. Uvek to report to Captain Brennon's ready room after the party in the NCO Lounge for Koester. After the brief meeting, Captain Brennon advided Smith he was to report to Commander Talbert for duty aboard the station.
Upon his arrival at the station, and after reporting to Commander Talbert, he was advised he was DS 27's new Chief of Station security, and ordered to make himself available at Captain Brennon's request - whatever that means... thought Smith.
While exploring his new duty station, Smith was called overhead.
"Petty Officer Smith, report to Airlock 5b." The Regent's voice chimed out in a deep tenor.
"En route regent." Ted had briefly read in the station's mission log of a sentient artificial being known as the Regent, and was dying to learn more about her, or him as it was now...

Charolette was in the airlock, making her way onto the station when Ted rounded the corner.
"Theodore James Smith - I thought I was supposed to meet you on the Guardian!" Charolette said with a stern voice to her husband.
"Hi honey... nice to see you too!" Ted said, beaming with joy, seeing his wife for the first time in almost 8 months. He hugged her and kissed her softly on her lips. Jeez, I missed her! I don't want this moment to end. "Well, honey, I want to welcome you to Deep Space 27. Our new home, being that I am the new Chief of Station Security."
Charolette was taken aback. "What do you mean 'Chief'? Did you get a promotion?"
"Not really. I was told that due to my excellent service on the Hartington that I was given a billet that would normally be filled by a Chief Petty Officer."
"Well, that makes our situation here a bit different. I thought you were just another Security Specialist." They talked all the way to their quarters, where Ted had dinner (or in this case, ration packs) waiting... _________________
