*ACTION*

Lt. Zeara moves into Ops with the Ju'Tau delegation, the Myosians acting as luggage racks and carrying the huge being's several offerings, chief among them the large gilt box. As Commander Talbert comes to the center of the station and greets the new contacts, they sit the box in the center of the room.

"Thank you for coming to Deep Space 27, I'm Commander Roger Talbert. On behalf of the United Federation of Planets, I welcome you aboard." said the Starfleet officer. Kkuzzu was looking around and nodding as Talbert spoke.

"Most impressive," he said almost to himself. "Much more than expected." As he spoke, his associates were also wandering a bit and looking around. Zeara felt the tension in the room change slightly. Kkuzzu looked at the Commander.

"Please, we are grateful to thee. Allow us to share with thee this token of our esteem. It will help thee to reach harmony and facilitate our introduction much better." With that he stepped aside and waved a hand toward the box. His second opened the box and a large silver disc emerged, spreading out like a great metal flower. Zeara's face showed shock.

"NO COMMANDER!" she cried out, "DON"T LET THEM ACTIVATE THAT!" But it was too late. All over the station every organic being felt as though the base of their skull was being crushed in a vice and everything went black.

Zeara lay still, conscious but apparently paralyzed. Somehow she could see, but could not move. Everyone in her line of sight was unconscious, the Commander laying in a heap a few feet from her. The Myosians and Ju'Tau were moving much quicker than expected now, and she heard Kkuzzu speaking.

"We must move quickly. The Neural inhibitor will only last 30 of their minutes. Have the crew transported aboard. You did well Dynara, your information was correct. The tal'harton will never again threaten the Ju'Tau." They began collecting the crew and moving them into security holding cells.

*****AIRLOCK: SECURITY STAFF

Just as Ted Smith was heading to the airlock door to exit the pressure chamber, he saw a flash of something outside. A kind of light swept through the station, and two crewmen in the hall fell prone, apparently unconcious. There was pressure in his head, like changing altitudes too fast, and all three crewmen felt dizzy, but the secure chamber shielded them from the brunt of the neural inhibitor sweep. Moments later, Myosians and huge aliens passed the chamber door, heading into the station. They were armed and alert.

Chief Smith Stopped short of the hatch.

"Gentlemen, I think we have a problem."

"What's that, Chief?" asked Bishop.

"Well, I saw a bright flash of something, and now I see a man down in the hall. What's worse is we're out here and a gaggle of Myosians just went flying past."

"Maybe they're part of the Diplomatic Group that just came on board." Said T'Plar.

"My gut says otherwise Crewman. I've learned, and Mr. Bishop here can attest, to trust my gut."

"To trust one's security to indigestion is illogical."

"Not indigestion T'Plar, instinct." said Smith, continuing. "Grant, have we figured out how to get into DS 27 without using airlocks?"

"I haven't gotten that far yet boss." Bishop said, using an appelation reserved for supervisors you were close with, "As far as I know, we have only the airlock to gain entry."

"Okay, then I want our tricorders set to track movement. Set them to detect Myosian life signs. I want to make sure they're not around when we pop this can open...."

As Ted stands behind the airlock door, he takes a tactical look out the portal, to make sure nobody is coming down the hall, Both Grant and T'Plar making the requisite adjustments to their tricorders.

***ENROUTE TO SECURITY***

Zeara can hear Kkuzzu moving down the hallway. She could hear running feet, grunted orders and work being done, but she could not move. It was so frustrating! All she could do was watch the lights on the ceiling pass by as she is carried to security. Kkuzzu was saying:

"Move to the shipyard, Dynara, we must secure the Archer before the neural effects wear off. Have Xxygan administer the injections, but be quick about it."

Zeara is unceremoniously dumped on the ground of the main holding cell. She could hear hypos discharging as each crewman is injected with..what? She could hear them coming closer and closer until...

"Xxygan, enough! Get out of there, we have a problem! The ship is not there!!" The great hulking creature moved out of the cell, grateful to not have to bend over anymore. Zeara hears the shields go up, and then she's left in silence, the only sound the deep breathing of her companions.

Chief Smith
DS 27 - Alterran Station
Airlock 11
Smith checked his Phaser. He required all his staff to carry at all times, and he was no different. His phaser was at half power. Bishop and T'Plar as it seemed, were no better.

"Well boys, it looks like we'll need to be selective about our targeting. At least until we can get some better charged Phasers. I recomend fireing at those targets that are a clear and present danger to you."

"I agree Chief." said Bishop. "I haven't seen anyone in this section for at least the last 30 minutes. It would appear now would be the time to make our move."

"I agree with Mr. Bishop Chief. This is the most opportune time to make such a move."

"Then its settled. We make our way to the Armory first for more weapons, then we investigate to see what is going on."

Bishop and T'Plar both nodded, followed up by "Aye, Aye Chief."

Chief Smith
DS-27
En Route to Armory/Security
Smith and his men were on their way. As they made their way through the halls, their tricorders let them know if the intruders were in the area, and in such a case, the men were able to tuck away inside any number of rooms on their route to Security. Smith and his men were now right around the corner from his office, and could see bodies (that he hoped were still alive) all over the room. There was only one guard, and T'Plar was able to handle him with a simple nerve pinch.

"Bishop, get us in!" spoke Smith in a whisper.

"Aye Aye Chief." said Bishop as the door popped open. "We're in!"

Smith and his team entered the room, and saw multiple bodies, and looked around, determining that all parties were indeed alive, but stunned. Smith looked around his office and discovered Lt. Zeara, awake, and alert, yet not moving.

"El-Tee, are you okay?" asked Smith to the Diplomatic Officer.

taking the sights and sounds and committing them to memory, she made sure she could give a detailed report once she was debriefed. laying in the dark and silence of the main holding cell she focused her mind and tried as hard as she could to call out for help, but was unable to know if she succeeded. Trying again, she could feel her mind growing exhausted from it and decided it was best to focus on her surroundings and trying to make her body move.

It felt like an eternity had passed in the dark before she'd gotten her eyes to blink and her right hand able to wiggle the fingers. With a sigh of relief she heard the door open and then Smith's voice. Unable to make her mouth form words she struggled to send him any kind of message.

Smith... it was a trap.... she tried to project out, but the inhibitor kept her from knowing if she had succeeded. Without being able to speak, she blinked her eyes and tried to lift her hand, but only succeeded in curling her fingers. Praying that was enough to signal them that she was conscious....

*OPS CENTER*

Kkuzzu moves through the Ops center. He is NOT in a good mood. Dynara enters behind him. The spy has let him down. With the Archer gone it doesn't seem like there is going to be a good result. Perhaps the Arranger was correct, after all. He turned and pointed at the Myosian traitor. "Move below and secure the cargo. XXygan and I will see to the placement of the charges. The computer files are sufficiently occupied with the Arranger's program so as to be ineffective. We will meet in the power core in 30 minutes."

Dynara moved off quickly, his crafty mind was already plotting his escape from Kkuzzu, who would no doubt kill him now that the Archer was gone.

Smith watched the Lieutenant mouth words. It looked almost as if she said Trap, but he couldn't be sure because there was no sound coming out. Smith's gut twinged again, this time he swung around in time to see the once unconscious guard spring back to life, this time with a myosian version of a disruptor. Smith drew his phaser and fired a direct hit at the Guard's torso, successfully knocking him down and out for a while.

T'Plar made his way to the fallen guard's lifeless body, and began to check him for signs the phaser didn't work. No worries there, as the phaser knocked him right out. T'Plar discovered a device that appeared to be a communicator. Over it Chief Smith and his men heard what was going on in Ops, followed by a terrifying admission:

Kkuzzu over the communicator wrote:
"Move below and secure the cargo. XXygan and I will see to the placement of the charges. The computer files are sufficiently occupied with the Arranger's program so as to be ineffective. We will meet in the power core in 30 minutes."

Smith looked at Bishop and T'Plar. Looking at the Vulcan first, he asked him "How is your fractal decryption Crewman?"

"I am a Vulcan, not an android Chief. It will take me a bit more time than Mr. Data, but I will be successful in decrypting theirs and encrypting ours."

"Get moving. I need some sort of access to cameras in Ops. For now, this communicator will do, but I need to see what we are dealing with."

Bishop had picked up where T'Plar had left off on checking the Guard.

"Hey Chief, check this out. Looks like this guard is wearing some kind of Earpiece." Bishop looked at it with curiousity. He'd never seen anything like this before. Maybe that's why he was out here on the station. Bishop started to put the earpiece in his ear when Smith stopped him.

"Grant, just what the hell are you doing?? We don't know what that is!"

"Whatever it is Boss... our situation can't get much worse without those cameras."

"Yes it can. You can be killed or crippled by whatever that thing is!"

"Ted, this is what we're out here for... to explore. I knew those were the risks wen I signed up. Let me see what it is first, then we'll worry about ill-effects."

"I'm allowing this only because of our dire situation. You may begin... carefully!"

Bishop put the earpiece to his ear, and it whined at first. Then it immersed itself in Bishop's ear.

"Grant, are you okay?" asked Smith.

"Yes chief. This earpiece is a battlefield camera. I can see ops through it. I can see everything. Looks like there are 20 myosians and Ju'Tau. Looks like their leader keeps looking around."

***ACTION POINT****

Using the 3d display from the "earphones", a startling truth came through.
Kkuzzu pointed at one of the Ju'Tau, this one standing nearest to a large gold-trimmed box from which protruded a huge silver disc on a an extended arm.

"Put your harmonizers back on Sylznn!" He bellowed. "And stand by to activate the neural inhibitor once the charges are set in the Power core."

Grant watched the one called Sylznn pull his own headset from his waistband and placed it carefully in his ears. The silver pieces fit perfectly, and he reached behind him and punched the white light on the box.

Startled he looked intently ahead as his own display came on. Over the communicator in Smith's hand, the team hears "INTRUDER ALERT! MAIN SECURITY!"

"Well, shit!" shoutes Smith as the Intruder Alert was sent to the members of the Ju'Tau contingent. "It would appear our time here is up! T'Plar, I need as many phasers and Phaser rifles as you can stuff in a duffle bag. Grant, gram Lt. Zeara, and lets get the hell out of here!"

"Aye, Chief" both said in unison. Once Bishop grabbed the Lieutenant, and T'Plar the weapons, Smith and comapny made their way to Ops. More than likely, the boarding party was thinning, and they would only leave a few people in Ops.

As they made their way through the station, Smith checked his tricorder for any Ju'Tau life signs. So far, nobody was coming up on radar, as they said in the 20th century.

They were now standing outside of Ops. Lifesigns showed only 5 Ju'Tau inside. Smith took a phaser from the bag, and set it to overload. I sure hope the structural integrity holds thought Smith as he tossed the makeshift grenade into the Ops center.

**BOOM**

Ted peered through the window of Ops, looking for signs of structural integrity failure. From first glance, he saw none. Only minor damage to Ops was done, but he succeeded in killing 5 Ju'Tau, and accessing Ops.

"Mr. T'Plar... can you get the computer operational?" said Smith.

"I can try Chief. I recomend we adjust the Ju'Tau's neural inhibitors first, so as not to be disabled by it ourselves."

"Good thinking T'Plar. Are you able to do that?"

"I believe with a phaser set to a very fine beam, I can adjust it just so.... THERE! That may do it Chief."

"Good work. Grant, how it the good Lieutenant doing?"

"She's coming out of whatever the inhibitor did to her. She's starting to talk again too..."

"Good." Smith now turned his attention to the Regent system. It apeared as though some subspace jammer was being used to recycle the Regent into some sort of regenerating stasis point.

"Chief," said T'Plar, "I believe if we do this," T'Plar now punching buttons on the jammer, "then we may be able to activate the..."

"Regent on line. How may I be of assistance Commander... Chief Smith, where is Commander Talbert?"

"Regent, he is being held in Security with the other command staff. We need your help to get control of the station computers."

"I will comply. I will send a simple fractal command to acomplish that." and a moment later: "You now have access Chief Smith. What else may I do to assist you?"

Smith couldn't believe what he was about to do. "Regent, activate the androids, and have them show our guests to the door."

"I am afraid I don't understand Chief Smith."

"Use the androids to rid the station of all Ju'Tau and Myosians!"

"Very well Chief Smith."

Moments after Chief Smith issues his order, an android enters Ops. It is one of the battle units, nearly eight feet tall, armor plates over critical areas. It stands just to the left of the entrance, and the Regent's voice can be heard over the comm system.

"This unit will accompany you as you traverse the station. Internal sensors are detecting explosive charges in Ops and near the main power core. You will need to neutralize them. I have other units engaging the enemy as we speak."

OOC I can post an action post on that skirmish later or you can Ted it's up to you.

Several attack androids slowly approach a group of several Ju'Tau and one Myosian, intense phaser fire slowly forcing them back. The androids take several direct hits, but to the invaders dismay, they have deflector shields installed. After several minutes of fighting they have already lost three men, and as their commander falls, they turn and run, heading back for their boarding craft. The androids pursue, making sure that they leave the station before moving to reinforce their counter parts that are attacking the main group.

The battle between the main invasion force and 6 of the Regents guardians is at a stalemate. The invaders have set up at an intersection, using phaser rifles to repel the androids as they take cover behind several tritanium crates they have commandeered from a nearby cargo bay. It is a battle they can't win, as the androids seem to be able to absorb anything the Ju'Tau throw at them and are deadly accurate, having already taken three men out with their aim. They only hope the Ju'Tau commander sees is keeping the station's defenses busy long enough for the timers on the explosive charges to expire. He fires another barrage of phaser bursts at an androids head, scoring a direct hit, the tell-tale flash of deflector shield obscuring the android's features for a moment. The android returns fire, forcing the commander to crouch down behind a crate as the location he occupied moments before explodes in a shower of sparks.

"Prepare the neural inhibitor! Set it at maximum!"

OOC Ted, the Regent said to go for the charges, so I'll let you post on that.

Hearing the chaos slowly unfold around her she begins to feel the mobility seep back into her body, slowly she feels her nerves and muscles begin to respond. Taking the first full deep breathe she coughs as her head feels like a heavy fog has been lifted.

Nodding to the crew around her that she's alright she makes her way over to Smith on unsteady steps.

I feel like I'm drunk she thinks to herself and a moment later, the feeling dissipates leaving her focused.

"Smith!" she shouts louder than intended. "I need to get back to security... check on the people there... The Commander and the others were left there!" she says in a rushed breath before she turns and looks at the nearest member of the security crew. "You, with me, let's move!" she shouts the command like she'd done this before and heads towards the door, grabbing a phaser on her way.

(OOC: KEEP IT UP AND WE"LL WRAP UP THE STORY. I'm assuming Zeara makes it to the Security station with T'PLar, and that Smith and Grant make it to the Power Core. Coupled with the Regent, your tasks are relatively simple. Post as you'd like and we'll send the Ju'Tau on their way with very limited supplies.)

*ACTION*

The Regent drops the security field on the main cargo bay and most of the station's security force pours out and pursues the retreating alien foes. The fire fight is terrible, with many casualties, but the handful of Myosian/Ju'Tau that make it back to the ship, seal the doors and depart hastily, leaving Kkuzzu alone, slinking toward the Ops center.

Bypassing Zeara and T'plar who were focused on reaching main security, Kkuzzu enters the Ops center triumphantly. He slumps towards the Neural Inhibitor and throws the switch. There is a crackling, buzzing sound, very different from before, and behind his harmonizer headset he hears a snapping sound. It is the last thing he hears. The resulting explosion from the power overload flashes pieces of Kkuzzu and the inhibitor all over Ops. The deactivated charges cannot pose a threat and, aside from the mopping up operations it appears that everything is under control.
