Qech put a reassuring hand on Calodan's shoulder as she looked to the group. "Well it seems to me there's only one safe time and place to return them to, and that's just before the accident. If they can avoid whatever energy surge sent them here in the first place, continuity errors won't be a problem. The problem is finding the way back, and doing it with such precision."
She bit her lip. "There has to be a way. And I'm sure that ion storm has some answers. It can't be simple coincidence that there happens to be one in the exact same spot in this time frame. Let's get underway. Maybe some scans of the storm itself will help turn up some more concrete answers." _________________

"I'm doing my best to catch up and be helpful..but I'm afraid it'll be too late."
"At least you have some background knowledge about this sort of thing," Aria said. "You've all lost me. I wish I could help, but it's not at all what I'm trained for. I'm so much baggage on this journey." She stopped talking. She didn't want to sound like she was whining, especially not when everyone had jumped on the problem so helpfully. She just hated not being able to do anything to help.

"Sounds good to me," she chirped. "The sooner the better, as far as I'm concerned." _________________

"I definitely agree. The two jumps have been progressively further and further into what would be our future. I'd rather not see myself at 80." _________________

OOC, just a nitpicky detail, but the ship is underway.
Croft watched two of his best friends in distress and couldn't help but feel for them,
"We should be to the wormhole within the hour, once on the other side we should be able to attempt a jump to slipstream, that will get us to the ion storm quick enough."
*I hope* _________________

The Doctor held up a hypo and pressed it against the arms of both time travelers, speaking as he did.
"What I'm injecting you with is a concentrated dose of chronometric radiation, the sort of pulse that allows for limited time travel by our DTI agents. I've infused it inside a liquid base, one that will -- I hope -- stabilize your condition. Unfortunately, it's only a stopgap measure. In the case of Mr. Worf, the jumps were triggered by a mechanical device, for the so-called Mirror Universe we've seen crossovers for a number of reasons... frankly I'm giving it my best guess here. The best we can hope is that the Ion Storm we're heading to will bear some similarities to the one that sent you on this journey to begin with, if it was indeed the storm itself that triggered it." _________________

Aria rubbed her arm. "Thanks," she said. "Warn a person first next time, though. I like to know when I'm about to be irradiated." She cocked her head and listened to what he said. The last part of his last sentence caught at her. "You think it might not have been the storm?" she asked him. _________________

OOC at this risk of overstepping my bounds...
Croft sat in the 'Big Chair' a few hours later, the Admiral to his left and Captain Qech to his right. The ship's slipstream drive had made short work of the distance that had taken the original Hartington months to traverse decades ago.
"Captain, approaching the last known coordinates of the ion storm."
Croft stood, adjusting his uniform,
"Bring us out of slipstream, decelerate from warp on my mark....Mark." _________________

OOC: No overstepping, I say good job!
The Science Officer tapped out a few commands, taking readings from the aft station.
"We're on the outer edge of the storm sir. Shielding and armor holding for the moment but the electromagnetic disturbances will increase as we move in. We're also picking up temporal disturbances similar to those encountered by the original Hartington twenty years ago."
Ambassador Brennon stood off to the side on the bridge, looking out of the view screen in awe.
"It even looks the same..." he shook his head and stepped over towards Captain Croft. "Well, Captain, what's our next move?" _________________

Croft glanced around the bridge as he spoke,
"I am open to suggestions, but it seems to be that our best chance at success would be attempting to reproduce the original event as much as possible. Unless there are objections, I believe we should take the ship in, nice and easy, just like last time."
He found himself remembering the storm, the temporal disturbances had made for quite the challenge for the then young helmsman. Something Croft had always enjoyed. He had a brief twinge of disappointment that he had obviously failed to avoid at least one temporal anomaly. _________________

Qech secretly crossed her fingers as they made their way into the storm cloud, hoping that their collective theories would be correct. She glanced over her shoulder to see Taj, his eyes transfixed on the viewscreen. As a budding science officer, this was the stuff he lived for. But for Qech, the feeling was quite different. She'd seen enough space anomalies for one lifetime, never mind six. She knew the dangers. And in truth, she found herself wishing that her son was anywhere but on this ship with her.
"Please don't let anything happen" she thought. "...For once." _________________

Aria crossed her fingers as they entered the anomaly.
Please let something happen she thought. Please let this be it. With any luck she and Calodan would soon be twenty years in the past.
Of course, what if something completely unexpected happened? Her mind, nervous and full of tension, threw nightmare scenarios before her. What if this did nothing? What if the temporal anomalies weren't strong enough to send them back in this time? Or what if it only sent them further into the future. ...Or what if it affected the whole crew and she and Calodan got back to the past only to realize they'd dragged the entire new crew of the Hartington with them? The fact of the matter was they had no idea what was going to happen. And that was making her very, very anxious. _________________

Croft shifts in his seat slightly, trying to loosen tense muscles. He finally stands, strolling towards the Ops station. The ship had been slowly moving through the storm, it's course winding through a maze of chronometric distortions, occasionally buffeted by the ionic currents around it. So far the shields were holding, but Croft was starting to wonder if this was such a good idea. Croft placed a hand on the chair behind Calodan, trying for an air of nonchalance, but not quite pulling if off.
"So, Jim, found what we are looking for yet?"
*Whatever that is* he almost added. _________________

"So, Jim, found what we are looking for yet?"
"We're still here, so I'd say no. These readings are basically what I remember seeing right before....well, right before my console exploded."
He paused for a second, seemingly lost in thought. "I wonder if that had something to do with it." He swiveled in his chair to face Croft. "You're Hartington is much better shielded and protected then the original one. We were having issues keeping the shields in phase, remember? They were slowing being drained..then there was that discharge? Maybe....maybe we should try and emulate that?" _________________

"Maybe....maybe we should try and emulate that?"
Qech stood up quickly from her chair, turning around to face her old friend. "Jim, am I hearing you right? You want us to subject you to a console discharge?"
She exchanged looks with Croft and Brennon, who were both wearing much the same expression she was. "I can't say I'm liking this idea. It's too much of a risk. That sort of current could easily kill you." _________________

"Jim, am I hearing you right? You want us to subject you to a console discharge?"
"You are hearing me right. Im suggesting we purposely weaken the shields and try and directly recreate what happened. The last thing I remember from my time is a surge of energy on the forward shields overwhelming them and then my console exploding." _________________
