Lieutenant Elen nodded and backed up hurriedly. She left a wide berth between herself and the console, which was now flashing red warning lights.
"Come on. Come on," she muttered, staring at the creature. _________________

ACTION
The sphere pulls away from Lenara, letting her drop to the floor with a thud. It moves towards the console briefly, then pauses. After a moment, it drops through the floor. Seconds later on the bridge, Lt. Thomas cries out.
"Captain! I am reading a concentration of energy leaving the ship! It appears to be on a exit vector." _________________

sh'Tahl Ran to Lenara, tapping her combadge. "sh'Tahl to sickbay! I need a medical team in Engineering!" She checked for a pulse and, relieved to have found one, stood up and looked to Lt. Elen. Her voice sounded slightly annoyed, but the frustration was obviously directed at the creature.
With a nod toward a wall-mounted console she asked, "can you get a status on this thing?" _________________

"Just a moment," Elen said and dashed to the console she'd fiddled with. A few seconds frantic work and it began powering down out of the danger zone. Once she was certain it wasn't going to blow up, she turned to the wall computer and called up what data there was.
"It is gone," she confirmed. Sensors aren't reading it's energy matrix anywhere within the ship's confines." She called up the external sensor data. "It's moving away from the ship at the equivalent of half-impulse power. I can't tell where it's going." She blinked and then turned to Sh'Talh. "Sir, if these readings are right, it's doubled in size." _________________

OOC thought I would point out the Lenara is an artificial life form, although like Data she has a pulse and imitates biological creatures (I just don't remember posting that anywhere, I always had it in my head that less technologically advanced species wouldn't be able to tell that the Alterrans were artificial) anyway tangent over
Lenara suddenly jerked, her eyes shooting open. She looked at those standing around her, her movements jerky, before she finally took a deep breath and her movements returned to normal.
"Lt. sh'Tal, the creature was attempting to communicate with me."
She sat up slowly, her body twitching a couple times.
"That was a lot of current to be sent through my systems." _________________

OOC Whether intentional or not, I thought it was cool that the new members on board didn't realize she was artificial. Well played everyone! _________________

((OOC: lol! Well, what the hell, I'll run with it...))
sh'Talh blinked. "Systems?" She sighed and rolled her eyes before tapping her combadge with her usual air of annoyance.
"sh'Talh to sickbay. Disregard the call for the medical team. False alarm."
She stood up, eying Lenara with a bit of skepticism. "I suppose you'll be needing an engineer then?" _________________

Lenara smiled warmly at sh'Tal, trying to process just what happened to her, the images received from the being, and the information streaming from numerous self-repairing systems.
"I don't think that will be necessary, but thank you for your concern. I think, however, I will wait a moment before standing." _________________

stands stock still in a bit of a stunned state taking in everything that's just happened. Not quite sure she can comprehend it all in the alloted time she just slowly lowers her arm and takes a deep breath, holds it a moment then slowly lets it out.
"Well... okay then" she says and looks down at Lenara. "You know, I always thought there was something different about her..."
Taking a few steps toward the console, just to check for her own sake that it's out of overload status then steps back again "Well I uh... should... and... I'm gonna... just go over there" she says quietly more to herself than anyone in particular and wanders toward the warp core checking everything out to verify that everything is still intact, more or less just trying to give her brain time to process the last few minutes. _________________

"No way, you're an android?" Tes stared at Lenara in fascination. "That's great! Hey, do you have a blueprint I could look at?" _________________

OOC sorry folks, it's been a wild ride as of late
Lenara took a moment to gather herself, slowly regaining her feet. She looked at the Bajoran woman, one of the few people in the crew she had to look down to, even if it was only slightly.
"I suppose android is a fitting description, although I am unlike any android you may be familiar with. I do have detailed schematics if you would like to see them sometime."
She glanced at the others, who all seemed a little uncomfortable.
"The entity is used a solitary existence, it has encountered vessels like ours before, but was unaware that they carried intelligent life on board. It intended us no harm. If I understand the impressions correctly, we shouldn't see it again." _________________

"So it just...sucked at our power and then left?" Elen frowned. "I'm sorry, but that didn't look like harmless curiosity to me." She chewed her lip as she thought. "I think we should have a backup contingency plan in case it comes back in less than a friendly mood. I'll talk to the captain about it."
She shook herself out of it and looked up at Lenara. "I'd love to see your schematics, as soon as you can provide them. If you're a type of android none of us have seen before, then I'm doubly interested. I'd like to get a look at how your power relays work. I don't understand why that creature didn't overload...Oh!"
Her eyes flew wide. "The overload booby trap...I never unset it!" Swearing something unladylike she took to her heels and flew to the turbolift. "It's okay!" she called as she ran. "I've got this!"
((OOC: Heh. I suddenly realized I'd never stopped the overload on the other deck. I thought about trying to retcon...but then I figured I'd just go with it and make Tes forget too. Hey, it's a stressful job!
So is that it? Alien leaves, no more story? Or is there more to come?)) _________________

OOC Oh there might be a few stray's left to take care of....
OOC part deux feel free to post your character's state of mind if nothing else.
ACTION
Just over an hour later, the senior staff is assembled in the staff room. Captain Marek sits at the head of the table, his hands forming a steeple as he listens to Ensign Lenara's report.
Lenara had just finished explaining the effects the discharge had had on her systems, which even the engineers in the room found dry.
"So to summarize, while I can only infer the direct meanings of the visual images that were projected. I do believe the being is peaceful in nature, and it appears there are more somewhere nearby." _________________
