USS Guardian - Bridge
Lt Cmdr. Mehvra-Kuplo
While by no means claustrophobic, Mehv find himself strangely unnerved by the inability to "see" anything around the ship and the closeness of the nebular gases.
"Ensign Tanaka, please report regularly our estimated distance inside the nebula." As the reports begin, Mehv relaxes a little as there is something to concentrate on other than the blackness and stillness. ""9500 kilometers, 12000 kilometers, 13500 kilometers ..." _________________

ACTION
After several tense, but uneventful, minutes, the Guardian approaches sensor range of the objects. They turn out to be starships, ten Nekrali vessels, one Myosian, and one unidentifiable. They are completely drained of power, and read no lifesigns. Repeated hails go unanswered.
Marek turns to Kuplo, a slight twinkle in his eye.
"Mehvra, assemble an away team, transport over to the Myosian vessel, we must determine what happened." _________________

USS Guardian - Bridge

"sh'Tahl, Tes, Solana, Lenara, you are with me." Mehv turns and moves toward the turbolift. "Hope you all are up to date on your EV suit training."
The group moves towards the transporter room. _________________

"Yes Sir" sh'Talh said simply and gave up her post to the next ranking tactical officer.
Before entering the transporter room she made sure to pick up a phaser rifle for extra security, and also checked that each of the other away team members was armed with their hand phasers. Her heart was beating quickly in her chest. Adventure, the unknown, and the possibility of a hostile encounter... This is what she lived for. _________________

Character: Lieutenant Solana
Location: Main Bridge, En Route to Away Mission
"Yes, Commander." she replied as she stepped away from the science console and followed the group to the Transporter Room. After suiting up in an EV Suit, she attached the hand phaser sh'Talh issued her, checked the power cell on both the weapon and her personal tricorder and stepped onto the transporter pad, waiting for the adventure to begin. _________________

Lenara makes a slight detour while the others don their EVA suits. She enters the transporter room a few minutes later with a portable power unit under one arm. She is somewhat out of place amongst all the EVA suits wearing just her uniform but smiles as she stands on the transporter padd.
"Ready for transport, Sir." _________________

"Yes, sir," Elen answered. She got up from her console and joined the other bridge officers leaving. The EV suit was heavy and uncomfortable to wear, but its very thickness had a comforting effect. It felt like a protective barrier against anything that might prove harmful. Of course, from experience Tes knew that once she was in the hostile environment, her protection would feel a lot less thick.
Once she'd attired herself, and double-checked that everything was in order, she joined Lenara on the transporter pad. She turned to the android, whom she still found fascinating.
"So what do you think the odds are that our little glowing friend is behind the lack of lifesigns?" _________________

Lenara turns to Elen, with only the briefest hesitation in her response.
"It is highly likely that the entity we encountered, or a relative, is involved somehow. Hopefully we can communicate the danger to whomever is involved if we cross paths with them." _________________

USS Guardian - Transporter Room
Lt Cmdr Mehvra-Kuplo
Mehv gets his gear ready and prepares for transport. Once he determines everyone is ready, he speaks, "OK, team, unknown ship in an unknown state, watch each others backs and stay in contact. Lt Thomas, please put us on the bridge, we'll start there."
The team materialized over on the Myosian vessel and as the transport finishes, the light from the beam vanishes and the team is plunged into complete darkness. One by one, lights from the EV suits appear and the team starts to move about the bridge.
A few things become immediately apparent, there is no power on the ship, the bridge crew is still here and dead, and there is no evidence of damage at this point. Mehv does a quick head count and with his team in place gets to work. "Ensign Lenara and Lt Elen, please head to engineering and see if we can restore some power to the ship, Lt sh'Tahl and Lt Solana, please do a search of the rest of the ship to get an idea of the layout and report anything unusual. Keep the comm-links open."
Mehv starts a search of the bridge noting the names of the bridge crew and scanning them for evidence of their cause of death. He collects any personal items for return to the Myosians. He respectfully moves them to the staff room adjacent to the bridge to get them out of the way of the equipment. _________________

"Yes, sir," Tes acknowledged. She and Lenara left the bridge. Without power to the ship the turbolifts were not working, so they had to travel through jeffries tubes. So it was some time later when they emerged, sweaty (or at least Tes was) inside her EV suit, and more than happy to be done with all the clamoring about.
"Well, now we have to get the power working," she commented. "Because climbing all that way back is a fate worse than death."
"You're the Chief Engineer," she went on. "So this is your show. Tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it." _________________

Lenara carried the power unit over to a console on a nearby wall.
"Why don't you pull the access panel off the wall and prep the power transfer interface? I will get the power adapter Mr. Dorin helped me design ready."
ACTION
Within a few minutes, they had the power unit integrated with the Myosian vessels core systems, and had lights and life support powered up. Ten minutes after that, the ship had warmed up and produced enough oxygen for the away team to shed their EVA suits. _________________

"Phew, that's a relief," Tes said as she pulled the EV suit's facepiece off. Lightly, she touched her commbadge. "Lieutenant Elen to Commander Kuplo. We're all set down here."
((OOC: Just in case not everyone got the memo, the actors who play Lts. Solana and Sh'Talh in real life are going to be enjoying themselves in Disneyworld all week (the wankers) while the rest of us slave away at normal life. So they probably won't be posting for awhile. Just letting everyone know so people won't be wondering why they're not around.)) _________________

(OOC: Do we want to hold of on continuing the story until they are back?)
Myosian Ship
Lt Cmdr Mehvra-Kuplo
Lt Elen wrote: | Lieutenant Elen to Commander Kuplo. We're all set down here. | "Very well Lieutenant, thank you for the lights. Please start on getting access to the computer so we can analyze logs and sensor data."
"Mehv to Guardian, The ship appears to be undamaged so far, the bridge crew was found on the bridge. It appears they have perished due to exposure and suffocation. We have temporary power setup and are searching the rest of the ship. Will attempt to get access to the ships computer." _________________

OOC We can take it slowly, that's kinda why I haven't posted much
Marek listens to his XO's report, pleased with the quick work his skilled people were making.
"Very well, if anything new develops please report it immediately."
Lenara, listening to Kuplo's orders, nods to Elen then walks over to a console, her fingers rapidly typing out commands. _________________

"We're on it, sir," Elen acknowledged. She joined Lenara at a sister-station and also punched out some exploratory codes. Figuring out access wasn't too hard but the information thus revealed was garbled and fragmentary.
"This is a mess," she commented. "Everything's all scrambled. I wonder if one of the computer's power relays blew while it was in the middle of some data stream process. That would account for..." she called up a file. "...a sensor analysis of the Duranium in the nebula being mixed with the Chief Engineer's Personal Logs, mixed with a recipe for Andorian Theitic pie." She shot a wry grin at Lenara. "Well, there, one mystery solved. We can tell the captain that the reason for the amounts of Duranium is a tightly crimped crust." _________________
