Remember V'Ger? I always imagined that V'Ger, NOMAD, and all that old technology returning to earth was a result of the Borg. Before the Borg knew bipedal movement was so efficient, they were a collective of technoparts, collaborating in space and collecting other technologies. Then, along comes NOMAD. They scan it's memories, find human kind, and voila! Arms and Legs become important, flesh becomes important! They begin collecting specimens throughout the Delta quadrant for experimentation, while they focus on reconnecting with Earth. In their studies of wormhole technology, they contact Voyager probe. Again, their interest becomes intense, and they make a concerted effort to contact Earth, even creating an artificial human to interact with us, later bonding to Commander Decker! This starts the whole process. Finally, Q sends the Enterprise through and the Borg realize how advanced we have become. Of course, they are now using transwarp technology, and here we go!

Just a thought.....any feedback?

Hey, just imagine if the Computer virus in the movie "VIRUS" was a borg transmission, trying to work in the realm of time travel? They did in first contact, why not? It sure looked like they went right to the source of interface - man.

anyway, maybe I'm just seeing Borg everywhere...lol

I remember reading in one of the novels (can't remember for the life of me which one... I bet Mr. Calodan knows!) something very similar to this idea. V'Ger was assimilated by a proto-borg or something like that... I'm not really sure.

*shifty eyes* Actually I do....

I was one of the Shatner novels that he was brought back to life by the Borg. The name was "The Return" and it was a very good novel. I have the entire series leading up to it in eBook format if anyone wants to take a look.

You're correct Mr. Calodan... but then again I don't want to play Trivial Pursuit with anyone... I'm not very good at that stuff unless it's something like Star Trek or World of Warcraft or something utterly useless like that. Or History but that doesn't count because it's important.
