Stardate: 53998.3

The Runabout Willamette waits in the launch bay, awaiting her crew. Standing outside the smaller craft stands Warrant Officer Kalev, a Coridanite expert in dilithium mining. He stood there waiting for the rest of the team to arrive, loading the mining equipment onto the Runabout.

USS Hartington
Xavier Croft

Croft nods to Kalev, then ducks his head and enters the runabout. He slides behind the controls, then begins running pre-flight checks. He is pleased to see everything shows green, the Hartington's dilithium obviously absorbed the brunt of the blast.

Calodan walked into the shuttlebay, equipped with a tricorder and a phaser strapped to his hip. He was glad to see Lt Ghan has assigned Kalev to work with them. He nodded at the Warrant officer and entered the runabout. "Report Mr. Croft."

Runabout Willamette
Xavier Croft

Croft looked back at Lieutenant Calodan.

"She's ready to fly, all systems are clear." He turned to the front, "Once everyone and everything is on board we are clear to launch." He double checks that the sensor data on the planet the probe had detected was stored in the runabout's computer.

After a few moments WO Kalev stepped into the Runabout for good and took a seat at one of the aft stations. He had configured it earlier for a combination Science and Engineering station, to more effectively search for the dilithium and to keep an eye on the Runabout's systems. The Warrant Officer briefly checked over the load and then looked to Calodan.

"We're all loaded up, Sir. Ready to launch as Lieutenant Croft says."

"Thank you Mr. Kalev. We're just waiting on the Security team then."

He tapped his commbadge. "Lt. Calodan to Mr. Uvek. The security personnel for the mining mission still haven't reported. Could you please check on them and ask them to report on the double. We're ready to depart here."

"Indeed," responded Uvek. He tapped his combadge again.

"Mr. Koester report to the Willamette immediately, please acknowledge."

Uvek was concerned and somewhat agitated. Despite this emergency, the staff was still well trained. Something else must have delayed him.

Character: Koa Tanay
Location: On er way to Runabout Willamette

On hearing the request through er commbadge, Ensign Tanay couldn't hold back a sigh of frustration. Dillithium Mining? How boring could that be? But, in the end, e thought again on it, as e was on er way to es assignment.

E slipped into er uniform, took er phaser and er two tidhalkagen, and slithered into the Runabout.

E reported to the Warrant Officer, then to Lt. Calodan. The tall Zeth faced the Trill, er black eyes shining like jewels, er cranial fin swooning slightly.

"Ensign Koa Tanay being reported for duty, sir."

USS Willamette
Xavier Croft

Croft smiled at the Calodan.
"Let's get this show on the road, shall we?"

Croft cycled the airlock, cleared take off with flight ops, and brought the runabout smoothly out of the shuttlebay. He brought the runabout around the port nacelle to take a peek at the ship before they left.

"Wow, looks even worse from out here."

"Thank you for accompanying us Ensign Tanay. I'm not expecting any trouble on this mission, but it is better safe then sorry."

He glanced out the forward portals at the damage taken by the Hartington. "It definitely looks severe, but all of that is repairable. The important thing is the nacelle superstructure is intact. Had we take that hit a little closer to the engineering hull, we'd be getting towed home by SCE while they searched for our nacelle."

He paused to look over sensor readings. "Please keep us under 1/4th impulse until we are several hundred kilometers from the Hartington, Mr. Croft. I'm hoping to use the sensors to gather as much data as possible about this area and I don't want a run in with whatever it was that hit the Hartington. Once we clear...lets say 750k from the ship, take us to warp 4." He paused, punched another command into the console to make sure the sensors were running continuous sweeps. "Ensign Tanay, if you would please take Tactical and make sure that the shields are a little stronger then usual, just in case."

USS Willamette
Xavier Croft

Croft tapped a few commands on the console.

"Yes sir." The runabout turns to the correct bearing and begins pulling away from the ship at 1/4 impulse.

"It should take a couple minutes to clear that distance."

OOC I could do the research and math but I'm feeling lazy hehe

Character: Koa Tanay

When e entered the roundabout, the Ensign was carrying, well sheathed on er back, what looked like two long and thin one-handed swords.
Ensign Koa Tanay nodded to those present, and then adopted an azemébi posture, relaxed but ready to spring into action in the blink of an eye. Er breath was almost unnoticiable, as were er heartbeat and other vital signs. Er eyes were not closed, but looked unfocused, gone. It didn't look like e was someone who liked small talk.

OOC (Physical description; info on the Zethny is not yet available online)
For those who haven't met er before, Ensign Tanay can be too much to handle. E is a 8' 2.43'' creature (a Zeth) (just er height; e is even longer...), with white skin and blackened stripes in er back and the back of er arms, similar to a zebra's. E is legless, similar to a naga built from a Loraby and a flatworm, instead of a Human and a snake. Instead of olfactory feathers, e has a cranial fin which slowly swoons, apparently on its own will. E looks like a distant cousin to Ensign Azmay... from a very odd branch of the family tree. E seems to wear es Starfleet uniform with a kind of relaxed pride.

Croft glanced at Calodan as the cruised along.

"I'm going to start the transmission to the Guardian, if you don't mind Lieutenant, these things practically fly themselves."
He chuckled as he glanced back, then up at Tanay, who appeared to be asleep with es eyes open. Okay, one liners aren't going to get anywhere with..that? he turned back forward Going to be a long trip I think

OOC If you guys want you can keep things moving, I probably won't post again till morning, it's bowling night, then I just have to watch Fringe. Just don't do anything too exciting with out me.
