Crew Quarters

Ted had just gotten in from his recent patrol aboard the Archer. He'd been asleep for just about an hour when the dream... er... nightmare began.

In it, Ted was aboard the Archer again. This time, he was patrolling the halls. Nobody was around. For a ship this size, and this new - there should be more people out. As he rounded a corner, he saw a group of Tal'Harton troops. Before them, on their knees, they had a large group of the Archer's crew... And the crew was resisting the Tal'Harton's attempts to "convert" the crew. Commander Osaka stood tall, telling the leader of the enemy troops to go to hell. The result was Osaka being shot at point blank range, disintegrating immediately, and causing Ted to gasp, catching the enemy's attention. When Ted went to draw his phaser to defend himself, it was gone. Frantically, Ted tried to find something to defend himself with, but to no avail. The Tal'Harton leader turned his weapon on Ted and fired...

Ted woke up, with a cold sweat, and jumped out of bed, his heart now racing. Charolette woke up with him, and walked up behind him, puting her arms around his midsection while he stared out into space.

"It's alright Ted. You're home now."

"I don't know why I feel like this. Missions have never bothered me like this."

"You've had a rough year... acting Master-At-Arms on the Hartington, your first assignment as Chief of Security was particularly frightening. And now this."

"But still, Char - I shouldn't be reacting this badly. I've been in worse scrapes before, and rose to the top."

"You usually got more rest. Why don't you let Maraia take a few of your shifts. Maybe work an 8 hour shift as opposed to your standard 16 hours shift. Do a few days in investigations, and let Maraia take the reigns for a day or two. She WAS picked by you to be your Assistant."

"I'll try Char. I just want to do good by Commander Talbert. I was hand picked for this crew, for reasons still unknown."

"You'll do Talbert no good if you're not ready mentally. Now come back to bed Mr. Hero-Of-The-Station."
