As we work towards a resolution in the discussion on the Articles of the Task Force, I would like to move forward with filling some of the important posts within the hierarchy of our organization.
Thus far we have filled three of the Staff positions:
Commander-in-Chief (myself)
Task Force Chief Operations Officer (Lieutenant Calodan)
Chief of Task Force Stellar Cartography (Lieutenant Commander Qech)
What we need now is to fill the remaining two positions.
Task Force Recruitment Officer
Commandant, Starfleet Academy
For clarification about what these positions involved please review the current draft of the Articles of the Task Force. If you still have any questions, post them here and we will try to answer them.
I have a few ideas about who I would like to see in these posts, but I would like to see who is interested in filling these important positions. I wouldn't want to try to force the job onto anyone who didn't want it just because I feel they could do it.
If anyone would like to step up and put their name in the hat for one of these remaining Staff positions, please post here. Your application will be reviewed by the current (tiny) Command Council and you will be informed of our decision. _________________

Subsection Five- Commandant, Starfleet Academy: This officer is the Commander of the Starfleet Academy Simulation, Task Force Gamma's training division. He/she is responsible for teaching new recruits about Simming, Star Trek and the Task Force Gamma setting. In order to assist in these duties the Academy Commandant may, at his/her discretion, assign others to act as aids.
I would like to volunteer for Commandant of Starfleet Academy. I have two possible player characters:
Commander Johnathan Thomas (captain/admiral/commandant)
Commander Sedt - Vulcan officer (captain/admiral/commandant)
If these would serve I would be honored to develop them, and set training programs in place. I can think of a few encounters that need to be introduced, including ship-board fires, medical emergencies, diplomacy issues, and fire fights, of course.
Please let me know if you think I'd be a good fit.
I would go for recruiter, but I'm just not that computer savvy..Although I have invited some of my facebook friends.
Thank you for the consideration.

might I suggest the commandant of Star Fleet Academy rank be a bit higher? I understand our use for the position but to my thinking the rank should suit the job. At the very least the personage should be a Captain and more likely an Admiral. Otherwise just call it Cadet Orientation and the Coordinator can be a LT Commander or Commander. Just my thoughts. _________________

Let's not worry about the prospective rank of the Commandant in game. I want to get a person in place so we can transfer our current Cadets to the Academy and get them trained up. As it sits, I have a hard time balancing the Cadet's training and the main Hartington missions.
That said, given the Sim host nature of the Commandant character he or she will most likely be a Captain or Rear Admiral in game as well as hold the Task Force Staff post on the Command Council. _________________

Well, in reality I would have suggested that initially, but rank is adjustable...
I still stand ready to serve, if possible. _________________

I'm going to let everyone mull over this for a few days, likely till Wed. just like the Ship Name vote and the Articles of the Task Force review currently going on. The Council will review all applicants put in by 7 PM EST this Wed and will make our decision shortly there after. _________________

Does that mean that Cadets are going to be removed from the main storyline? |

I have a plan for this. The short answer is yes, but I think you're going to be an Ensign before that happens. _________________

Oh... ok. I was planning to submit to you a Zeth character (to have the chance to play someone VERY different to Azmay, who is so calm and nice, and so be able to balance two very different characters), so I guess I'll make him a officer, just graduated from the Academy. |

Well, since I would like to contribute I could try my hand at recruiting, I dropped a hint I would like to help on the tech side but no bites (Calodan?) I think there's enough info on the forums for a start and I'm a reasonably quick learner. (I'm back by the way hehehe) _________________

Actually, I was going to nominate you or McTavish for post of Commandant of the Academy!
All you need to do is develop a character for it! _________________
