The time has come to name our new ship. Which of these three will we choose? Remember, the ship is to be an Excelsior class starship, much like our current ship. They most likely were a decommissioned and recommissioned for the war. They've most likely been sent into the Gamma Quadrant as a support ship for the Hartington's exploration efforts, doing some time in deep space in their own right of course. I'm getting the distinct feeling that we could been looking at a TOS feel in this one. _________________

Gotta vote for the USS Columbus, not the city, but the man.
As much fun as it would be to have A Nina, a Pinta, and a Santa Maria, I think the USS Columbus is very fitting. _________________

Voting for the name will continue until Wed. September 30, 2009. At that time the poll will be closed and the choice with the most votes will be the winner.
In the event of a tie we will have a runoff vote including the two that tie.
In the event of a three way tie we will open the floor to discussion on the names once more so we can get a consensus on what names should be included in the runoff.
If a consensus cannot be reached, the Command Council will take unilateral action to determine the name of the new Simulation by voting in closed session. _________________

The vote ends when I get home from work tomorrow, there are still four people who've not yet voted. Do so now or forever hold your peace. _________________

And the winner is...
USS Guardian!
Now that that is settled we can move forward with selecting a Commanding Officer. _________________

that's wonderful! I used the Guardian for years in the late 80's to 90's playing Starfleet Battles. Many times my cousin and I duked it out, his Klingon fleet attacking my fleet.
Thank you for considering it. Whatever the situation, I am going to come up with characters just to walk the planks of the old girl again! _________________
