Calodan caught Qech before she could fall. "Easy Commander. We've got you." He injected her with a hypospray and set to work on her arm with a dermal regenerator.

"We've moved away from the village. Our last visual showed the Hukana in complete disarray. We're awaiting your orders to return to the Hartington. Ensign McTavish can remotely pilot the Columbia back."

Out of the corner of his eye he could see Lieutenants Uvek and Ghan helping Crewman Smith to a biobed. Crewman Thompson was sitting against a bulkhead, battered and bruised but seemingly alright.

Qech accepted Calodan's support gratefully, but couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed by her weakness. She had a feeling he'd understand; the unusual death of Braxlin Qech was very well known on Trill. But despite this knowledge she still felt slightly ashamed of herself for letting her fear take hold so completely. She shook her head to clear her thoughts as she tried to stop the shaking. It didn't help matters that she felt as though she was going to vomit; thankfully, she managed to keep that particular side-effect under control. Calodan's voice swam in her head:

"We've moved away from the village. Our last visual showed the Hukana in complete disarray. We're awaiting your orders to return to the Hartington. Ensign McTavish can remotely pilot the Columbia back."

She nodded, getting a hold of herself. "Rendezvous with Hartington... Is everyone alright?"

Calodan tapped his commbadge "Ensign McTavish, take remote control of the Columbia and rendezvous with the Hartington. Let them know we have the away team and will be transporting Crewman Smith and Thompson to sickbay on arrival for medical attention."

He turned back to the Commander. "We got the four of you off the surface before any serious injuries. Crewman Smith will need some surgery to repair the damage that arrow did, but his is the most serious injury. Crewman Sloan is dead sir. There was nothing anyone could have done."

Qech swore silently at the news of Sloan's death. So much for a mission of exploration she thought. Why does everything have to end with war?

She looked up at Lt. Calodan. "Thank you Lieutenant. And nice touch bringing the runabout around as a scare tactic. You read my mind." She smiled weakly. "It's just a good thing Chief Blair is so quick with a transport."

Shakily she stood up, concentrating on the fact that the beam-out was over, and made her way over to Crewmen Smith, nodding in respect to Lt. Uvek as she passed. She sat down next to the biobed and talked to him quietly while they made their journey back to the Hartington.

McTavish had the Impulse Drive of the Columbia online as the away team beamed onboard.
Quote:

"Ensign McTavish, take remote control of the Columbia and rendezvous with the Hartington. Let them know we have the away team and will be transporting Crewman Smith and Thompson to sickbay on arrival for medical attention."

"Willamette to USS Hartington. Willamette and Columbia returning to Uss Hartington. Crewman Sloan was killed in action, Crewman Smith and Thompson were injured and will be beamed directly to sickbay as soon as we breach orbit. Please notify LT Lornara. Commander Qech received minor injuries."

The Willamette began its ascent as arrows and spears bounced off the shields. McTavish brought the Columbia over the village, the targeting sensors flashing across both of the runabouts control panels. One slight slip of the finger and he could level the entire area. Such a tempting thought. With a sigh, McTavish cleared the targets and activated the Columbia's transporter unit and beamed the Cardassians aboard the empty Runabout.

"USS Hartington, We were also able to recover the Cardassian bodies. Willamette out.

OOC: It was an oversight. That is part of the reason I need the NPCs listed on the SMS site. I'll end this scene and post up later guidelines for NPCs so we are all aware of how to do this. sorry about the confusion. Uvek, if you'd like to say something before the end of the scene this is the time to do so. You guys are in the shuttle heading back to the ship, wounded recovered and all breathing a sigh of relief for surviving.

Uvek moved to Smith, who was nursing his bloodied and bruised thigh.

"You've done well, Petty Officer. I thank you for your quick reactions in protecting your team. I will see to it you are commended."

He patted Smith on his shoulder, then turned again to Commander Qech.

"I trust your injuries are not serious, Commander. I apologize that I was unable to intercept your assailant. I will work on squad reactions later in the holodeck." He nodded out, and moved to place his Teral'n into a security locker, then took a seat near the biobeds and waited to arrive at the ship.

Qech smiled at Uvek. "It was just a scratch, Lieutenant, but thank you for your concern. And your reaction times were as good as could be expected, under the circumstances. I thank you all for that as well." She leaned back for a moment and closed her eyes, fighting the still hovering effects of her transporter phobia. She hoped she didn't look as bad as she felt. "That could have gone very badly... Or rather, worse than it did" she added, thinking of Crewmen Sloan. "You all did very well today."
