Qech laughed. "As you wish, Doctor-doctor. I think calling Taj is the first thing I'd better do... Make that the second thing. I need to pop my head in on the debriefing if it's still in session. The Captain may wonder where I disappeared to otherwise..."
Her eyes widened suddenly, and she slapped her hand against her forehead. "The Captain! Oh, how I look forward to filling him in on the fact that only a few months into this voyage his XO is going to blow up like a beach ball." She sighed and shook her head, looking back up to doctor Kiv. "Okay... Debriefing, tell Taj, tell the Captain, Raktajino." She stopped at the withering look she received from the Doctor and decided to revise her statement. "Fine, scratch the Raktajino." With that, she stood up and, Thanking Dr. Kiv, exited the office for the Conference Room.
No Raktajinos... These next eight months are going to be very long indeed... _________________

(OOC: Owwww... I guess that's what I get for taking a few days off...lol)
Smith sat up in the Bio-bed. As Cadet Azmay treated his wounds, he laughed. Thinking to himself, "Well, I guess I'm getting the Starfleet Purple Heart... Crap happens, eh?" _________________

"Greetings Mr Smith, I believe we have not yet met." Oliver looked at the officer sitting on the bed, and noted his wounds.
They were not heavy, mainly skin deep, a dermal regeneration blast should do the trick. However there appeared to be some deep tissue damage and some bruising to his tibia. As he punched a report into the L.C.A.R.S panel built into the Bio - Bed, he suddenly found himself thinking about his brother. Tom and the officer in front of him shared a striking resemblance, and just thinking about it made him shiver. It was the buzzing that was coming from the Ensigns tricorder that shook him to his senses.
"How are you feeling?" Oliver scanned him with the bio-scanner that he removed clumsily from the tricorder, and raised his eyebrows for a response.
"You may have to take a couple of days off duty to rest, regenerated skin is not all that tough you know. If you want, i will ask Dr. Kiv to tell the captain." |

Smith sat up in the Bio-bed. As Ensign Azmay treated his wounds, he laughed.
"I wonder what he finds so funny..." The tall, thin Loraby stopped at once, and turned to face Doctor Newell.
"This one thinks Mr. Smith will be up in a few days, but e also thinks that he shouldn't ask too much of that leg for a while. Maybe he should ask for some leave days" |

"I agree Ensign, would you clear it with Dr. Kiv? I remembered i have some filing to do."
Oliver turned away, hoping his face hadn't told them anything more. |

"Yes, Doctor. This one hopes you agree, Mr. Smith. On your leave"
Ensign Azmay turned around, and walked to clear Mr. Smith's leave with Doctor Kiv. |

Doctor Kiv stepped out of her office a few minutes after Commander Qech had left. She looked to Doctors Azmay and Newell discussing Crewmen Smith's injury.
"I agree Ensign, would you clear it with Dr. Kiv? I remembered i have some filing to do."
The Bajoran woman stepped over to her two colleagues, curiousity clear on her face.
"Clear what with me, Doctors?" _________________

Oliver cleared his throat and shifted uneasily before replying.
"Ensign Azmay and I would like to request that Mr smith be considered for a few days leave. Some of his injuries were just superficial, but there were a couple of nasty ones . . ."
Oliver waited anxiously for the CMO's reply, she looked at him rather intensely, and then spoke . |

Smith hobbled over... walking slowly to keep from injuring himself further.
"Actually, I'd really just rather have a light duty post... maybe sitting in the brig, or doing reports in the Security Office." _________________

"That's the spirit sir!"
Oliver beamed at the officer, "now, if you don't mind, that paperwork"
he looked around briefly, looking a bit worried, and then left. |

Doctor Kiv nodded in agreement.
"I think Mr. Smith should be able to continue on with Light Duty. A few duty shifts in the Security Office shouldn't hurt. Come back and see us in two days for a check-up and some additional regeneration treatments. You should be right as rain by then." _________________
