Stardate: 54367.3
Location: Sickbay
reporting as: Combat Emergency medical hologram System 921
The grey flat 15 kilogram case was delivered by a female crewman. She entered sickbay and set the case down beside a bio bed in the main clinic. A medical officer looked at her curiously, then pressed his commbadge. "Chief Medical officer to sickbay, please."
He moved over and looked at the flat, metallic case. SYSTEM 921 was tagged on top, near a large red switch that read ACTIVATE. No way, he thought, I'm leaving that to the Doctor. Whatever this is, it's obviously another Starfleet Medical experiment, and he wasn't touching it. _________________

Dr. Uroki's comm beeped while she stood chatting with the First Officer in the turbolift.
"Chief Medical officer to sickbay, please."
She tapped her badge briskly, and with an enthusiasm not usually associated with the action. "I'm on my way." When the life opened, she bowed dramatically to the Tellerite, said her farewells, and made her way to the medical ward. When she got there, she found a box, and a medical officer looking at that box like it may likely explode. She chuckled a little. "At ease, Ensign. It's just the field-EMH I asked for. Handy little things... Or at least, I think so. Can't say I've ever been on the receiving end of one. Not exactly old school these things. But I like to be ready for anything." She grinned brightly at the ensign. "What do you say we try 'er out. A... 'bench test' if you will?"
With her usual flourish, she activated the program... _________________

A subtle hum emenated from the platform and six seconds later a human figure stood before them, black wavy hair touseled as though he had just got out of bed.
"I do not understand, you do not appear to have a medical emergency." he noted.
Stepping off the pad, he moved deeper into the room and, noting the doctor's rank and insignia, he bowed slightly.
"Combat Emergency Medical Hologram, System 921, at your service, Sir." He smiled at Dr. Uroki, "How may I assist you?" _________________

Uroki beamed. "Don't worry Doctor, if such is the title you prefer, I was merely testing out the system. You seem to performing adequately, at least so far. Don't worry, I won't go asking you to hop on one foot or any such thing I just wanted to make sure the activation sequence was good n'quick. That would seem to be a priority, giving your on-the-field function."
She looked past the hologram at the stiffened Ensign, who clearly didn't know what to make of the situation. "I hope you weren't under the impression that I'd be using you as a... What's that earth animal? a 'guinea pig' Ensign. No no no, I deem his functionality as satisfactory without having to watch him apply bandages to healthy medical officers."
Nodding her head in joyful satisfaction, she turned back to the EMH. "You may deactivate now, Doctor. All is well here." _________________

"Thank you for not, as you say, putting me to the test," replied the EMH as he moved back to the platform. "After all, I'm a fully functioning doctor, not a test tube." He smiled as he positioned himself on the pad. "System 921 deactivating." With that, he was gone. _________________
