Greetings. I guess I should've posted one of these things before my crewmates thought I was a raging lunatic.

Anyway. My real name is Carl, and I am from Florida. I'm presently active duty military. US Navy but switching to the US Army as an Engineer Officer at the end of my Navy tour in a couple months. I have worked alongside the US Army in previous rotations.

I have an affinity to Canis Familiaris, and own a Belgian Malinois (a smaller, smarter 'cousin' of the German Shepherd) named Ninja.

I'm a big fan of the martial arts in general, with mixed martial arts and sambo being my favorites and also have a keen interest in German, British, and Russian history and culture. (Hence the reason my character is Russian/German on his father's side and British on his mother's).

My character was inspired by several factors, but the John Vornholt Dominion War books Behind Enemy Lines and Tunnel Through The Stars was a big inspiration behind Koester's back story as well as the episode Fields of Fire from DS9.
