OOC: Sadly, Ensign Tanay is on board the Willamette. Maybe you meant Ensign Azmay?

USS Hartington Deck 19
Chief Brin Vek

Brin took a deep breath then responded.

"Acknowledged."

I thought I would have gotten over this by now, but each time is just as terrifying

"Zeara, Smith you're both covered. Proceed to your objectives." Koester said as he snapped more rounds downrange with his TR-116 in quick succession. Three intruders fell with holes in their skulls.

"When you get to Cargo Bay 1, go to the comptroller office on it's second deck. That's my position." Koester ordered.

USS Hartington Deck 19
Chief Brin Vek

Brin followed slowly behind the others, his eyes sweeping from one end of the corridor and back again over and over. Besides a large number of bodies, there didn't appear to be anymore aliens. Brin didn't dare let his guard down, that's how people get killed.

"Azmay, stay in Sickbay but be ready to do a site to site transport we might have wounded coming your way." Koester said.

His eyes scanned the corridor through the TR116 eyepiece and noticed the intruders' progress seemed slowed in sectors where he picked them off with his TR-116.

Ensign Azmay tapped es commbadge, and replied to Koester:

"Acknowledged, sir. This one is on es way back to Sickbay"

Azmay sighed, and walked back to Sickbay, wondering what was happening... an alien assault couldn't be true, could it?

"Smith to Koester... Cargo Bay is clear. Standing by in comptroller's office, awaiting orders."

"Koester here, I'm coming out. I'lleet you and assist you and Zaera with clearing the cargo bays." Koester replied. True to form he stepped out armed with his trusty TR-116.

USS Hartington Deck 19 Cargo bay
Chief Brin Vek

Brin entered the Cargo bay just as Koester stepped out.

"It looks all clear. Anyone have a tricorder?

ACTION

The battle culminates as the Hartington's crew is able to route the invaders, forcing them off of the ship and back onto the vessel that had embedded itself into the Hartington's engineering section. The few surviving invaders are rounded up placed in holding cells while Lieutenant Ghan surveys the damage done.

The crew learns that the invaders had managed to steal pieces of random technology, a pair of hand scanners here, a phaser there. Crew casualties were very light, no deaths and only a few minor injuries from the enemy hand weapons. On the Bridge the Captain orders status reports from each of the away teams... only one answers: Runabout Willamette. Thankfully, the Willamette's mission appears to have been more than successful. In addition to getting a hold of the dilithium needed to restart the warp core, the team made peaceful First Contact with a new race.

Unfortunately, both the Pike and Columbia were still missing and even with the Dilithium purchased from the Myosians the Hartington could only make warp 3. It was also around this time that the Pike's distress call was received by the Hartington, along with her last few moments of sensor data. All of these elements combined made the situation quite dire.

Once the Willamette returned to base, the Captain called for a Staff Meeting.

(OOC: Willamette crew and all personnel on Hartington can attend this meeting).

Deck One Conference Room

Captain Brennon looked haggard, as though he hadn't slept in several days -- which he most likely had not. With the minefield, the Nekrali raid and the missing away teams there was a lot to do. He sat at the head of the conference table, looking over a cracked PADD, damage reports and repair estimates. He looked to Lieutenant Ghan and shook his head.

"You truly don't think that you can get the port nacelle up and running without the parts we sent Columbia for?"

The Chief Engineer shook his porcine head and sighed. He too looked tired, his dark brown skin seemed a sickly shade lighter as he replied to his Captain's question.

"I'm sorry, Sir... If we had the facilities of a full scale Starbase then we'd be up and running in no time but as it sits now I have to rebuild those fused coils from scratch, and I just don't have the parts necessary. I've ordered my people to prepare for cannibalizing the shuttle pods, but I really don't want to do that unless it's a last resort."

The Captain nodded grimly before he turned to the rest of his assembled staff.

"Lieutenant Calodan, you spent some time among these Myosians, do you think they'd be open to lending us a hand getting back on our feet?"

sitting at the table she looked around at the tired and haggard sitting in the room. She'd seen little of the battle, had slight knowledge of what the runabouts had gone through, and still, with the unreported head injury she sustained, she felt a little muddled and confused on top of everything else. She tried opening her mind to sense out anything more than she knew, but all it did was make the room feel like it was spinning, and make her dizzy.

"Yes Captain, I believe they would be. We defended one of their frieghters from the Nekrali and they seemed genuinely grateful. We were welcomed back. If nothing else sir, they will more then likely be willing to trade us the parts we need. We were able to trade relatively little to get the refined dilithium we needed."

He paused and punched a few buttons on a PADD and the display in the room changed to show a diagram of the planet they had just returned from. "The only issue as I see it sir is that we are 2 days away at our best speed and we will more then likely run into more Nekrali between here and there. Even with Lt. Ghan and his team running full speed, we're in no shape to try and fight them off. I suggest that we take the Williamette back for parts."

Deck One Conference Room
Characters:

Ensign Azmay
Ensign Koa Tanay

Both the Loraby and the Zeth Ensigns attended the Staff Meeting. They seemed to be keeping away from each other, but in a casual way (Ensign Azmay with the medical personnel, close to Counselor Zeara; Ensign Tanay with other Security Officers, serene and distant).

USS Hartington Conference room
Chief Brin Vek

Brin wasn't use to staff meetings, he had either been the only one that could fix things or too far down the list in his career. He felt like he was interrupting, but couldn't help himself.

"Sir, if I may? Preliminary analysis of the Nekrali attack leads me to believe we can modulate the shields so they will be unable to attach to the hull, that should offer us some protection. I would need the assistance of the engineering staff." Brin wrung his hands nervously, "Just a suggestion." He added quickly.

Xavier Croft

Croft watched the proceedings, but couldn't help but glancing at the Counselor every few moments. Something was wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
