Uvek nodded gratefully. "I feel well, Doctor. There may be some gaps, however, I feel capable and I think I have an understanding of my decision making process." He stood and stretched. "I also feel I owe Ambassador Rolen an apology. Should he recover, I suspect we have much to discuss."
He smiled and dipped his head. "I will always be grateful doctor. Of course, I will schedule a series of scans as soon as possible. In the meantime, please forgive me if I feel the need to sleep." He escorted her to the door and smiled as it opened.
"Jolan Tru, doctor. May you live long and prosper." _________________

Petty Officer Koester headed into sickbay looking for Dr. Kiv. He hadn't been sleeping well the past few weeks. Ever since that mission with the Cardassians all sorts of things had been bothering him.
"Excuse me Doctor? I was wondering if you had any sleep aids available? I've not been sleeping well of late..." |

Uvek slept that night and most of the next day. He awoke long enough to enjoy a bowl of Gletten. His mind was clear and sharp but, while he felt rested, he knew he needed to be stronger yet. He kept the room dark and fell back into bed, sleeping some more.
Finally, he awoke. He was still on medical leave until the scans from Dr. T'Lau cleared him, but for the moment he was interested in using this time in another way. He sat down at his computer console and looked at the blank screen. A quick review of the past events and the more recent encounter with his vulcan physician, proved to him that he was himself again. He activated the console and set to work. He had something he needed to see, and an idea from his encounter with the Tal'harton.
Bridging the two sides of his mind made one thing clear to him. These creatures had weaknesses. Weaknesses that could be exploited in a way that would leave them questioning the wisdom of attacking the Hartington again.
Tomorrow he would see the doctor. Then he would see the captain. _________________

Croft was efficiently removing the makings of a simple lunch of sandwiches from his pack. Until the bottle of champagne and two delicate looking glasses come out. He grins at Rea's incredulous look, then tapped the glasses together, the sound was far more metallic than glass. "Transparent aluminum, didn't want them to break." He turns to her comment, "As for you paperwork, even if you 'waste' a whole day with me, you should still have at least 5 days where two-thirds of the crew is off ship, should give you plenty of time to hole up in your office." Croft's grin grew wider as he poured a glass, handing it to Rea. _________________

(OOC: I'm going to give everyone until around 8:00 AM tomorrow [11/17/09] to finish up this scene then I'll close it up. If you have anything you want to do more during Shore Leave then take it to a Secondary Storyline. I'll be back on later today to help finish up with any hanging scenes with NPCs) _________________

eyeing him warily she took the glass and set it aside as she pulled a bottle of water out of her sack.
"Drinking at high altitude is not recomended. It's a sure way to find yourself injured." she said the last with a bit of sarcasm before drinking from her water.
"sorry to spoil whatever plans you had, but I don't drink champagne." she said and noted the look on his face. "I have my reasons" she said quietly and picked up her sandwhich and began to eat silently while lost in thought. _________________

Croft laughs out loud. "Well I'm glad I didn't open the bottle, I hate the stuff." So much for being romantic He continues unwrapping lunch items, slicing bread, and otherwise preparing what amounts to a simple sandwich buffet. "I didn't know what you care for sandwich wise, so I packed a little of everything." He handed her a plate with some bread on it, "Help yourself." He leans back on his arm, watching her. Doing his best to block this thought from her he thinks She looks like she would like to open up to someone, I wonder why she won't? _________________

With sandwhich in hand, she smiles and stands to move a few feet away and looks over the landscape.
so much like home... she thinks to herself as she eats suddenly becoming unaware of her surroundings as she sits down on a boulder and just watches the land before her. _________________

Hours later, Croft is walking back to his quarters. Try as he might, he couldn't get Rea to put her guard down. He'd settle for friends but right now it had the feeling of an acquaintance. I didn't know any better I'd say she was part Vulcan he smiled to himself as he entered his quarters. _________________
