I'm giving my brother until Saturday to get his character in. If he doesn't we'll get started without him and allow him to join up if/when he does make the character. Sound good to everyone? _________________

Sounds good to me as well, I'm just impressed you and your brother are that much alike, my little bro wouldn't do this at all, and would probably look at me weird if I explained what it was to him. Too each their own, I can't listen to country music and he lives by the stuff. _________________

Steve is a part of my weekly gaming group, he's been influenced by me since he was little... I corrupted him early and made sure it stuck!
Sadly he is a little lazy (as 17 year-old's often are) so he's been procrastinating. Add to that the fact that he's submitted it twice and vanished into the ether... oh well, I hope we'll get him soon. _________________

I know that there can be a "personal" issue too, where the threads can be taken personally, as opposed to character-driven. I went through that for a bit when I tried to get my little brother into D&D. He hated some of my decisions when really they were just game-based. _________________

oh, that wouldn't be a problem at all for Steve. He's not the sensitive type. Things just kind of roll off him. That can be a problem for some people, but... Not for him. _________________

I've been thinking, and XO fits Yashvir's goals perfectly. I think he'd go for the position given even half a chance. _________________

I had a post on this before but it didn't make it through. I think looking at what we have for Characters so far, Yashir and Qech are the likely candidates. Qech would be the similar arguement as T'Pol was for XO, and Yashir's post and experience fit quite well. My character has the rank, but I don't see a CMO being an XO, it seems that in the middle of an emergency you can't have your XO tied to sickbay. Just my thoughts. _________________

For me, it really depends on long-term goals, dedication and interest. I have joined this simm group and I did not do so lightly. I read and understood that this would be a commitment. Since I have not simmed or role played in a long time, I wasn't sure I could dedicate myself to this. With the holidays approaching, as the captain has said, it will become necessary to perhaps call a break sometime in December until the first of the year, because we are also part of the Lion's Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and we have 40 plus lives in our hands, so we are going to shortly hit a wall. However, whoever takes XO will need to be dedicated.
I have selected a junior grade lieutenant because a) I don't know enough about the era to be effective b) I already have 2 high ranking officers and I want to flex my lower rank muscles and see things from a less-intense perspective. I guess I said all that to say this: Good luck whomever is offered the post. I know Qech can handle it, I look forward to playing along side Yashir, so I think it will continue to be fun, wherever this goes.

I didn't create Selara Qech for the XO role. She's specifically geared to be Chief science officer. She's also not of Starfleet, so she doesn't have a rank amongst them, not formally so. Those in the science dept would yield to her out of respect and courtesy, if nothing else. Plus, I'm already juggling the XO role on the Hartington, and I didn't want to "double-book" in the same dept. I'd like to stay away from command this time around. Try something new (especially since I'm playing a Trill. But she's different from Davynn, so I don't mind). _________________

My brother says that he'll join us after we begin, his computer has been acting up and it may take him a little to get it fixed. So here is what we'll do: I'm going to post up a Captain's Starlog and get the first scene going sometime in the next 24 hours. Here is our current roster:
Commanding Officer: Captain Caden Wells
Executive Officer: Lieutenant Commander Yashmir Vishani
Chief Flight Control Officer: Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Marcus
Chief Strategic Operations Officer: Lieutenant Commander Yashmir Vishani
Chief Engineering Officer: Lieutenant Isaac Namara
Chief Medical Officer: Lieutenant Commander Alexander Weyland
Chief Science Officer: Professor Selara Qech
Commander Vishani is going to take Tactical until our Armory Officer reports in, Professor Qech will be acting as Science Officer and Chief Linguist (the reason why the Trill are letting her serve aboard this Earth ship).
Everyone happy with this? _________________
