Captain's Starlog, August 05, 2155

We have been given the final go ahead from Starfleet Command to depart San Francisco Spacedock and begin general operations. Our first mission, while not one of the highest caliber, will be to report to Centauri III to transport Professor Tobin Dax back to his homeworld, Trillius Prime. Trillius Prime is outside of the current boards of the Coalition of Planets and well away from the Romulan Empire, with whom we are currently in conflict with.

I've questioned the wisdom of sending one of our newest and most powerful vessels so far away from the front, but Command has assured me that with Discovery's launch three days from now, the Sol System will be protected.

I have every confidence that we will be able to complete this task and begin carrying out more... appropriate missions within a week's time.
