Alaina and I are considering doing a Star Trek Comic in the near future. As such she's begun working on some concept art for the characters, scribblings and sketches that she's doing in her spare time of some of the various characters we're thinking of using. She's fairly particular about when she puts her art up on the net and seeing as she's just put it up on her DA page, I figured I could put it up here for you guys to see. I hope she's not upset with me...
Anyhow, this first page is an Andorian shen (one of the female aspected of the four Andorian Genders). The color on her is just to test and see how the scanner took the color (we're in need of a new scanner) so that's why it isn't a complete color job. Also the uniform has no bearing on what she'll be (we're thinking tactical though).
This second page has a few characters we're thinking about along with a bit from the Hartington. Starting from the top left is a Klingon officer, most likely the Empire's liaison to the space station. The right is a body shot of the Ferengi Alliance's liaison to the station (his head is in the center). Bottom right corner has a Klingon-Romulan Hybrid, she is going to be the Station's Strategic Operations Officer. To her left is Commander Qech with her hair up in a pony tail (my personal favorite Qech drawing thus far) followed by another shot of Qech. Lastly we have directly above Qech and below the Klingon, Yeomen M'Rowl.
All very nice if you ask me. I just hope she's alright with me sharing these with you guys here. _________________

Very talented. If you would like writers, I can take ideas and write them out. I have published a number of self-produced works for the churches I have been associated with, including short stories of my own in my 30's, entitled Night Mind.
Never amounted to much more than a fun ride for my friends, but some of my works for the church have gone all over the country, even to Holland.
Anyway, just an offer of help. LOVE THE PICS.
Between them and the avatars,it really adds to the experience. Nicely done. _________________

Thank you for the kind offer my friend, but I've already started scripting the first story. Maybe we can work on something together in the future, but this particular story will be a husband and wife collaboration.
We are very glad you like the work, like I said, she's just sketching a few ideas out, nothing solid just yet... though if that Andorian and the Klingon are any example of what she'll come up with I personally can't wait! _________________

Absolutely wonderful. I think the two of you would make a great pair for a comic. _________________

have you developed a title or seed thought yet? it would be interesting to hear about the development challenges. A tutorial, if you will, on the struggles to produce it.
it's too bad we don't have the Gamma Twitter account up and running.... _________________

When I get home tonight, after I catch up on my action posts, maybe I'll pound out a brief intro to our idea. I think it may help me think a little, good idea Mark! _________________

Very nice work, love the Andorian! I myself would be interested in that little intro, I suspect it will be very interesting. _________________

Wow, maybe the animated series would have been slightly more enjoyable if the characters looked as good as the ones in the pictures!
Well done i say, very nice! : |

haha...I just said that about the characters to my wife. They could very easily work in Pixar world! I agree with Captain Marek. The intro and updates could not only help to keep things in order, I think it would be a great help to us who might be thinking along the same lines.
Good luck to both of you. A good team makes collaboration a dream. I know what it is to have a good partner. My wife and I live together (obviously) but we work where we live and so spend many many hours together every week. And you know what? We love it. I don't think I would enjoy working without her around.

I just hope I can get my hands on some more copic markers so that I have a decent color range to start with. Ever since I first set my eyes on those beauties... I've been in love.
And I don't mind that you posted them Tom. We'll have to keep everyone updated now of course. _________________

My lovely wife is quite talented if you ask me. I LOVE these images, especially the Klingon, Commander Marath. I've been bugging her to do a detailed bust of Chancellor Martok... maybe one of these days she'll grace us with one (hint, hint). _________________
