The Dr pressed a button on the LCARS next to the hologram, and it vanished, with a shwip. He tapped his combadge.
"Dr. Oliver Newell to Chief Petty Officer Vek Brin, report to sickbay when you have the chance, out." Hoping that Brin was actually on shift, Oliver sat back in his office and waited. Holograms, always trouble he thought. He glanced at his watch, and realized that he was due off shift in a couple of hours, hopefully the work to the EMH could at least be half finished before he left. "Coffee, black, sweet, in a cup." The replicator hissed and Oliver turned, once again it had managed to give him coffee, black, and probably sweet but no ruddy cup. Whats the point of having a nice drink if you have to slurp it up off the floor. He though about calling engineering, but they had more important things on thier mind. He didn't want the whole ship down in his office all at once anyway.

USS Hartington Sickbay
Chief Brin Vek

Brin walked into sickbay, just in time to see Dr. Newell finish mopping coffee up off the floor. "You called for me Dr. Newell?" Brin was a little confused, Dr. Kiv usually handled his physicals, her being Bajoran as well, and it had only been two months ago.

"Ah, yes, hang on one moment." The flustered Dr threw the rag into the waste paper basket and straightend his scrubs.
"Um two things Mr. Brin if you please, the first, i wondered if you could have a look at the EMH for me, i know it's usually a wrench job but, they are very busy, and well, i suppose it's a challenge for you. I know you gusy do shields, are holograms the same? And secondly, a physical. according to my records it's been two months, which isn't long at all, but i would also like the chance to get to know you as well, small talk if you don't mind? i need to get back into the medicinal role, what do you say?"

USS Hartington Sickbay
Chief Brin Vek

Brin smiled a little, "I've always been a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades as you humans put it. I think I can handle an EMH." He opened his toolkit, "I imagine you can use your tricorder while I work if you like." He walked over to a nearby panel, punching in a few commands, then "Computer, activate the EMH."

OOC, not sure who's going to portray the EMH...

"Computer, activate the EMH."

The feminine form of the Mark V Emergency Medical Hologram appeared before their eyes. For a fraction of a second, she seemed like a statue, standing before them unblinking and unbreathing. Then suddenly she came to life, seemingly just as real as Chief Brin or Doctor Newell. She smiled as she looked towards Brin, her singsong voice calling out the customary greeting of her kind.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

Brin pulled out a tricorder and another small device, which emitted a small gravimetric beam. He used it to disrupt the EMH's holomatrix while he scanned the results, everywhere the beam touch caused a small disruption. "EMH, run full diagnostic."

"So Brin," Oliver said, over the hum of both tricorders, "What was your previous assignment before the Hartington?" The Dr could hav easily looked it up in the files, but he wanted the science officer to tell him.

Brin glances at the Doctor briefly, then continues, "I served on DS9, first as a member of the Bajoran militia, and then during the war as a Starfleet Non-Commisioned officer. I chose to go with the Defiant when the Federation withdrew." He watched the information on the console for a moment then continued scanning.

The doctor looked up from his work and smiled. "Ds9..? I bet that was amazing."
