Task Force: Gamma

Charolette was running around the quarters when she got the call from Ted. Ted told her he was being reassigned, to pack the apartment, and to meet him aboard the USS Guardian. Now a couple of days later, the place was packed, and she was ready to catch the runabout to the Gamma Quadrant.

Hmmm... Ted's on a new ship. Wonder what he did this time to be transferred. Oh well, at least its not shore duty. Charolette thought.

"Computer," said Charolette as the computer chirped, "Estimated time of departure for Runabout Mississippi?"

"Departure time will commence in 30 minutes." the computer said without emotion.

A couple of days and I'll be on the Guardian with my husband. What have I gotten myself into.

Is Char going to join him in the fleet, or is she a civvy? I think we might have a job for her if she isn't in Starfleet....

We've got her set up as Civillian Affairs on the DS 27 site, but what have you got in mind for her Boss?

Thirty minutes later, Charolette stood at Airlock 17, waiting to board the Runabout. Her belongings were already aboard, and the course to rendezvous(sp?) with the Guardian was already laid in.

So, why am I so nervous? she asked herself. Maybe its just nerves. This is, after all, the first time I've left this Station for somewhere other than Earth. And this time, we're in an entirely different part of the Galaxy!

As she boarded the runabout, the crew chief, a stocky young human male, nodded to her and said "Welcome aboard ma'am!"

"Thanks Chief. Glad to be aboard."

"You're welcome ma'am. We should make contact with Guardian in roughly 24 to 48 hours. Make yourself comfortable in the living quarters ma'am, and before you know it, we'll be there."

"Whatever you say Chief... Like my Great-Great grandfather used to say - Go Greyhound, and leave the flying - er... I mean the driving to us..."
