"Rolen is an ambassador for the Dominion. He came aboard the ship early on in the voyage. Unfortunately, he's Vorta, so..."
She noted the look of comprehension on Lioy's face.
"Too bad," Aria agreed. "I suppose it was too much to hope for that I could just read him."
How do you want to play this? she thought towards the Commander as the door slid open. Good cop, bad cop? Or should we just ask him and then read his reaction? _________________

The sudden switch to telepathy surprised her, but Qech looked back to the betazoid, a sarcastic smile on her face.
Great, as if I didn't have enough voices in my head. She chuckled. I'm not so foolish as to assume I know what he's going to do, so let's start honestly and work from there. I don't want to put him on the defensive right away. He's been on my bad side once, I don't think he wants to be there again.
"Ambassador" she said as she approached his table. "There's something I need to discuss with you." _________________

Great, as if I didn't have enough voices in my head.
No sense in letting him hear us plan.
Aria listened to the rest of Qech's message. Fair enough, she said. I'll let you do the talking first, then. And support you.
She stopped a pace behind Qech, her eyes fixed on the Vorta. _________________

Character: Ambassador Rolen
Location: Deck 8 Crew Lounge "The Team Room", USS Hartington
Ambassador Rolen sat at a table by himself, his cool violet eyes scanning over the room taking in the activity around him. As the two officers approach him, he turns and smiles widely.
"Ambassador, there's something I need to discuss with you."
"Commander, what a pleasure. Please join me. This must be our newest Diplomatic Officer," the Ambassador held out a hand to Lioy, bowing his head ever-so slightly as he did. "Lieutenant, it is a pleasure."
With the pleasantries out of the way, Rolen turned his eyes onto Qech's, locking onto hers with tractor beam intensity. As he waited for her to begin the smile never wavered from his face. None could doubt the experience this man had in the diplomatic and political arena and these two Officers had stepped onto his home field.
"How may I be of assistance, Commander?"

About halfway through Lieutenant Uvek's discussion on a suggested course of action, the Captain stepped out of his Ready Room. He approached Uvek and Drake at the Science Station, looking over the data himself. After a moment, his eyes moved from the display to his Chief Science Officer.
"What do you think, Mr. Drake?" _________________

"How may I be of assistance, Commander?"
Qech did not return his smile. Her face remained neutral as she stood, straight-backed, in front of the Vorta. "You've often commented that you've felt left-out on this ship, in terms of being able to do your duties as an ambassador. Now's your chance."
She stepped forward slightly.
"I'm going to get right to the point: Are you at all familiar with the Frieka?" _________________

The Ambassador seemed to think for a moment, cocking his head off to one side slightly and looking off into the middle distance as he went over the information in his mind. After several moments he nodded before he spoke.
"The name is familiar, if I'm not mistaken they are a pre-warp civilization in this region of space. The Dominion first became interested in them because of the unusual gravometric data our scouts had received from this sector. To my knowledge, we have not engaged in formal contact because they have little to offer the Dominion as a whole. We later learned to create the same types of Magnetic Technology economically, where these people use the same type of devices but on a much more massive scale. Why do you ask?" _________________

"Because," Aria answered in an even tone. "Somebody has stolen one of the Friekien satellites. It's disrupting their planet and putting all of the Friekiens at risk." _________________

(OOC: I can't help but laugh when I look at that smile on Aria's avatar and she says "Frieken satellites! LOL. However, to avoid that I generally tend to refer to them as Frieka scientists and such, since they regard their world as a living entity and they worship it.) _________________

((OOC: That should become my char's exclamation. No 'Holy Crap!', no "oh my god!'...instead it'll be "Frieken satellites!")) _________________

Qech looked back at Rolen. "Does the term 'Mandrake' sound familiar, Ambassador?" _________________

"Because, somebody has stolen one of the Friekien satellites. It's disrupting their planet and putting all of the Friekiens at risk."
The Ambassador looked at Lieutenant Lioy as she spoke up, apparently surprised by the information.
"Really, that is interesting news. Whomever absconded with the satellite must have some very fearsome technology, as I said the Friekiens have not yet perfected miniaturization."
"Does the term 'Mandrake' sound familiar, Ambassador?"
At that, he shook his head and looked to Qech. His eyes were genuinely apologetic as he replied.
"Unfortunately, I do not Commander. I'm afraid that I have been outside the Vorta sensitive data pool for some time now... apparently they think that being aboard a Federation vessel has compromised me somehow. Ridiculous of course." _________________

Aria glanced at Quech. He sounds sincere, she spoke silently to the other woman. It didn't seem to her as if the violet-eyed alien were lying.
However, Qech had known the Vorta a lot longer than she had. And, as the superior officer, it would be her decision how to proceed. Aria returned her gaze to Rolen and waited. _________________

Lt. Cory Drake
USS Hartington
Bridge
Drake looked up at the captain standing over him. Rare that the captain is checking more in depth on what is going here at the science console, makes me feel important, Drake thought.
The lieutenant then nodded in response. "I would agree with Mr. Uvek, Captain. Sending the Archer would be the best option that we have. Like he said, our cloak could be discoverable by two of the possible ships that those warp trails below to."
Drake swalled hard, still uncomfortable with the captain standing over him. "I suggest the Hartington and Guardian stay close by though, incase the Archer needs help, Sir. Thank you for asking my opinion, Captain." _________________

"Unfortunately, I do not Commander. I'm afraid that I have been outside the Vorta sensitive data pool for some time now... apparently they think that being aboard a Federation vessel has compromised me somehow. Ridiculous of course."
Qech contemplated Rolen's words for a moment, realizing that it made sense from a Dominion standpoint. Why would they tell him anything of a sensitive nature anymore? He was telling the truth about one thing: he was out of the loop.
He sounds sincere came Lioy's voice into her mind.
I have to agree, Lieutenant. But he might still have something to contribute here...
Qech sat down at the table, clearly taken Rolen a bit by surprise, and leaned forward. "Sit down ambassador, please. You said the Dominion would have no interest in the satellite. And while you may not be as frequently updated as before, you still know the Dominion better than anyone else here."
She waited for the Vorta to take his seat, then continued. "We found traces of Dominion warp signatures at the site. Can you think of any reason why that may be?" _________________
