Chief Smith
DS 27 - Alterran Station

Chief Smith entered Ops, and made his way to Commander Talbert's office. He buzzed the door chime, and waited until the command to enter was given.

"Chief Smith reporting in sir!" said Smith in his most professional sounding voice. "I've got the after action reviews from my staff and Lt. Zeara you requested sir." He put the PADDs on the desk before him.

Roger waved to a seat across from him and watched Smith sit. He picked up the PADD but didn't glance at it. He sat staring at his Chief of security.

"Well," he said unsure of where to begin. "Truth be told I feel like a fool. I know better than to bring un-vetted beings into the Ops center. Though from what I gather from the Regent, it wouldn't have made much difference. I understand I have you and your team to thank for keeping us in one piece. So, thank you. You've earned your pay this week, that's for sure."

He stood and moved to his bar, turning as he did. "Drink, Chief?" he asked in an uncharacteristic move. Normally he wouldn't have thought of this, or even considered it, but the man did save their lives after all.

"Thank you sir, but I'm going to pass just this once. I need to make my way back to my quarters and check on the home front, then its off to improving our security protocols." Pausing, Smith continued. "I will say this sir. You were blessed with one hell of a crew. Bishop and I were on the Hartington together, and I must say, Grant showed some metle during this last fight. Lt. Zeara should be commended too for attempting to fight when she was incapacitated."

Talbert smiled, putting his bottle down with nothing poured. Truth be told it was a social custom he didn't fully enjoy himself.

"Fair enough Chief. Have Rhea join me if you see her would you?" He patted his Security chief on the back.

"Make sure you pass my congrats to your team." He returned to his desk and set about reading the report.

Adjusting her uniform one last time, she pressed the chime at the door. He'd wanted to speak with her, though she couldn't figure out why, she'd given her report, Smith had brought it to him, what more was there?
