If you've been following the Guardian, then you already know what's going on, but to be brief, there's a new station in the neighborhood. The question I have is this, when the storyline is complete, there will likely be a new facility in Starfleet control. Is there any interest in another simm? It would likely follow a somewhat DS9 format (sans wormhole) ie, station of non-starfleet design, assorted crew, ship assigned to station for away missions. The position of the station makes it close to Myosian space, yet near the edge of the Delta Quadrant, so it could lend itself to occasional interaction with Voyager related species.
Please leave your comments below, including any interest in adding a character to the mix.
Thanks

I think the idea is a good one and under different circumstances would be all for it. Currently, I don't have the time, however. _________________

Well, if time were not an issue Mehv, I take that as a yes. For my part, I submit Commander Talbert for the station.
Since I am already in discussions on this topic in the Command Council, I will not add more but I'm all for it......
One point: If you don't want to create and run a NEW character, would anyone be willing to do what I am and give a crewman to the station itself or fill a gap left over by the same? _________________

I would be willing to create a new character for this space station if it becomes a reality. I hope it does. _________________

Thought I would point out, that at this point it is not a matter of if, but when. The Command Council has agreed that the simm won't succeed without some new recruits. So the sooner we can get some more people in here, the faster we can get the simm up. I would suggest that if you know anyone that might be interested to ask them to visit the forums and see if they are interested. _________________

Another thoughtline is that we just kick it off with the interested people and add newbies as they join up...maybe if we do a good job those not "sold" on the idea will want to be part....just laying it out there.
Our first storyline is going to be called 'HEAVENLY ARCHER'.....an homage to Apollo....and will cross with Guardian, who will still be in the neighborhood. (Maybe Hartington, if I get the ok, too).... _________________

How about a ground outpost, discovered by a routine unmanned probe. Followed-up by a small Starfleet "A and A" (Anthropology-and-Archeology) expedition aboard the (Phobos-Class) U.S.S. Myanmar. The outpost is millions of years old. Just a small bunker, but its deceptively larger beneath the surface than it first appears.

Actually, that's a good point. What does our new Station look like? _________________

Ok one of these days I may try a sketch, but here's a basic description. The central section is basically a column, slightly wider in the center with a slight taper to each end. Each end has five docking arms, equidistant from each other, they are similar to the DS9 arms except arching outwards. Around the central ring are four dry dock facilities, two large enough for the largest Star fleet vessels and two sized at about intrepid or akira class vessels. These pairs are opposite each other. Ops is near the 'top' of the station. The top half is habitable, the bottom half is refinery, foundery, and weapons systems. (The plasma cannon requires a shielded section to itself, the radiation generated is fatal to humanoids, and harmful to Alterran's for that matter) At the 1/4 and 3/4 point on the main core, are a ring of airlocks that ships can 'nose' in to, I imagined about ten per ring. The station therefore can dock up to 34 vessels in a pinch, although that would depend on the size and configuration of the vessels. Internal layout is generally circular, most hallways have a slight curve except for the ones heading towards the center of the ring.
Hope this helps. _________________
