"Your call, Commander. It's your team."
Qech looked to Korax and nodded. "Actually I think it would be a good idea. Klingons are the best to deal with Klingons, to say nothing of the extra security."
She gave a nod of respect to the Klingon, and looked to the new Diplomatic Officer. "Lieutenant Lioy, I'd like for you to come along as well."
She then turned to Uvek. "Contact Lieutenant zh'Rel please, Mr. Uvek. I'd like to double up on security, and Calodan may need you."
Having chosen her away team, the Commander made her way to the science station and stood next to Lieutenant Drake, looking down at the console in front of him. "Any recommendations, Lieutenant?" _________________

Calodan nodded to the Captain then turned over control of Ops to his replacement. "Mr. Croft, Mr Uvek..you're with me. Captain, I suggest we take a runabout to the station, that way we have a closer base of operations should the Hartington be needed elsewhere."
He looked at his team and really felt he wanted one more engineer. Maybe Lt. Ghan would have someone. He tapped his commbadge on the way to the turbolift. "Lt. Ghan, I need an engineer for an away mission. Do you have anyone you can spare?" _________________

Croft surrendered his post to the relief officer, following Calodan to the turbolift. I've been looking forward to a good away mission, and Klingon no less He smiled slightly as Calodan paged for an engineer. _________________

"Lt. Ghan, I need an engineer for an away mission. Do you have anyone you can spare?"
Lieutenant Ghan looked around the engine room for a moment before his eyes settled on the kid. Scratching at his beard, an idea formed in the Tellarite's mind.
"I've got just the person in mind, Lieutenant. They'll meet you in the shuttlebay."
He stood up and walked over to the new crewman.
"Coelho, I've got an assignment for you. Report to the shuttlebay for an away mission under Lieutenant Calodan's command. If I hear of any misbehavior at all -- anything in the slightest... you will not like the consequences. Do I make myself clear, Crewman?"

Lieutenant Korax nodded sharply to Commander Qech and joined her at the Science station with Lieutenant Drake.
Moments later, Lieutenant zh'Rel appeared on the Bridge and stepped over to Uvek, awaiting her orders. _________________

"Mr. Croft, Mr Uvek..you're with me. Captain, I suggest we take a runabout to the station, that way we have a closer base of operations should the Hartington be needed elsewhere."
Uvek nodded in agreement. "Very well, lieutenant. I will make the necessary preparations. Mr. Phell, you have tactical. Mr. Zh'Rel you will accompany Commander Qech with two other security members." He quietly pulled her aside. "Korax will be accompanying you as an advisor, follow his lead but you are security chief of the Starfleet personnel. You, personally, will take responsibility for Commander Qech's safety. I want that clear."
Watching her nod in agreement, he turned and moved to the turbolift. _________________

"Crystal, sir!" Coelho replied, throwing a tiny note of fear into his voice to keep from showing his enthusiasm. A chance to finally impress them, and more than that, to really contribute. Perhaps better, this means I might actually be allowed to use something, anything, more advanced than basic calibration tools.
Coelho carefully returned the tools he had been using, as if to say "Look boss, no tricks!" From there it was a quick run to the shuttle bay so he could finally smile. Ghan would never let him live it down if he actually saw the boy too happy. _________________

Lt. Cory Drake
Science Station - Bridge
USS Hartington
Drake pointed to the view on his monitor at his station and then looked at the Commander looking over him. "Commander, researching the planet, this may be the best location here," Drake paused enough for the commander to focus on where he was pointing to. "It's a location, near a market place, but hidden from view of anyone. Make a discrete entrance would probably be advised."
Drake looked up at the commander and smiled slight. "But it's your call of course, Commander." _________________

Qech smiled "Well, my call is to do the smart thing and listen to the science officer. It looks like a good choice to me, Lieutenant. In fact, you should probably come with us. Get a closer reading of the planet. The more information we can gather from the surface, the better."
She then looked up to the Captain. "We'll be standing by in Transporter Room one, Sir."
With her away team in tow, Qech made her way to the turbo lift. _________________

Lt. Cory Drake
USS Hartington
Bridge
Drake swallowed hard as he followed the commander into the turbolift on their way to the transporter room. An away mission, me? Drake thought to himself. He hated leaving the safety of the ship. He had a little bit of an anxiety about going on away missions.
Drake put the fear behind him and smiled at the commander. "It's funny, I have the sudden urge for blood wine." He joked. "Guess, I might get some now, Ma'am." _________________

"It's funny, I have the sudden urge for blood wine. Guess, I might get some now, Ma'am."
Qech smiled, glancing back at Drake as she walked. "If we can get the Klingons to share their blood wine with us then I'd have to call the mission a glowing success. For now let's just concentrate on not getting killed." She winked, hoping to communicate that she was joking.
...Half joking, she thought. _________________

Aria smiled at Drake, sensing anxiety from him that matched her own.
"I've never actually tried bloodwine," she chimed in. "Something to look forward to, I guess. Although, since it is Klingon cuisine, I'm not sure being killed wouldn't be more merciful." _________________

Calodan entered the shuttle bay with Croft and Uvek in tow and headed right towards the Williamette.
"Mr. Croft, please start preflight. If you'll assist him Mr. Uvek we'll be able to get underway shortly. I'll be along in just a minute."
As the other two entered the shuttlecraft, he turned to face the young man in Operations gold without a rank on his collar. "Mr. Coelho, we haven't been formally introduced. I'm Lt. Calodan, the one who spent 3 days with Lt. Ghan cleaning your programs out of our databanks. I think he's probably thoroughly explained the consequences should something like that happen again, but let me reiterate: Mess with my computer again and I'll break your fingers." The serious expression slipped a little and he cracked a slight smile. He could only play the 'mean superior officer' for so long. "Now that that little formality is out of the way, you'll find that I'm very understanding. I believe that everyone makes mistakes and as long as you learn from them then they can be made into a positive thing." He paused for a second and handed Coelho a PADD. "I know the rules are right now that you don't get access to any tools, but I'm suspending them for this away mission. We'll be heading over to a space station in orbit of unknown origins. Hopefully we won't need your skills, but I requested an engineer on this mission for a reason. Keep your eyes open and if you see anything that seems dangerous, let me know immediately. Stick close to myself or Lt. Uvek and everything will be fine. Now, get on board and help with pre-flight." _________________

"I've never actually tried bloodwine, something to look forward to, I guess. Although, since it is Klingon cuisine, I'm not sure being killed wouldn't be more merciful."
Qech glanced at Lioy as she stepped on to the transporter pad. "Think of the most bitter thing you've ever tasted and multiply it by a factor of ten... I rather like it."
She waited for the rest of the team to position themselves on the platform, looking ahead at the transporter chief.
This was the part that Qech hated the most. As per usual, she broke out into a cold sweat, and her heart sped up, beating like thunder in her chest. I don't think I'm ever going to get used to this again she thought, hating that it was such a regular part of her job.
When everyone appeared ready, she reluctantly gave the order. Her hands were shaking, and her voice broke slightly when she spoke.
"Energize, Chief." _________________

As Calodan began to speak, small shivers of dread crept into Antonio's mind. Scenerios of how bad this could be replayed themselves again until the tension broke and Calodan offered him the PADD. "Aye aye, sir!" Coelho said with all the enthusiasm that had pent up along his trip to the shuttle bay. "Thank you, sir." and with that he scrambled on board the shuttle to lend whatever hand he could. _________________
