Croft stood at his station, listening to the conversation between Woods, Loiy and Calodan, his grin turning to a look of confusion.
*What the devil?*
He resisted the urge to leave his post, instead reaching out with his empathy. It only took a moment to focus on his friends, their anxiety and confusion was like a flashing beacon on the otherwise calm ship. Turning his thoughts back to the tactical station, he checked the time.
*Twenty more minutes and I can go find them myself and ask.* _________________

Aria looked back at Calodan, her heart in her throat. It sounded like Qech was...
"We have to jump again," she said to Jim in an undertone. "This isn't right."
She walked over to the side wall. "Computer. What is the status of Commander Qech?" She feared she knew the worst already, but had to confirm it. _________________

The computer chirped to life at Lioy's question.
"Commander Qech was killed in action on stardate 55006.41."
((OOC: For quick reference that was two weeks prior to the current date.)) _________________

Aria nodded, her worst fears confirmed. She turned to look at Calodan. "So much for this timeline," she said. "I guess we have to explain that we're time travellers again." She paused as morbid thoughts flowed across her brain. "I hope the Captain has a good tolerance for the weird. Up till now we've always explained things to Qech."
She shook her head. "Is it me, or are we not getting any closer to solving this? In each time we jump before we can duplicate the accident." _________________

Location: Main Bridge, USS Hartington
Captain Brennon stepped out onto the Bridge and looked to Lieutenant Woods. She wore a distinctly confused look on her face as she worked her console.
"Something the matter, Lieutenant?"
Shaken out of her stupor, Woods turned to her Captain.
"No sir, just a strange request from below decks. It seems Lieutenants Calodan and Lioy were a little lost, possibly a bit confused."
His attention piqued, Brennon stepped over to the Operations Station.
"What do you mean, 'lost and confused'?"
"Aria asked where they were and Jim asked the date and who was in command..."
The Captain cursed under his breath and scratched his beard, thinking for a moment.
"Dammit... we knew this was going to happen." he turned to Lieutenant Croft, his crisis face on and ready for action. "Mr. Croft, I need you and Smith to bring Lieutenants Lioy and Croft into custody. Confine them in an area away from any sources of energy. Lieutenant Woods will prepare a confinement area on deck five. Pilot, bring us to a full stop and hold position until further notice... Alert me when they're confined."
With that, the Captain stepped off the Bridge and back into his Ready Room to think about the situation and what it meant for their mission...

Location: Deck 5, USS Hartington
All around the Lieutenants the lights began to flicker and power fluctuated across the nearby panels. Soon, the corridor went dark, lit only by the emergency lighting. The dim red hue and the slow but steady flashing gave the oft traveled corridor a new and distinctly eerie feeling. Had the news of Commander Qech's demise not completely shaken them from the familiarity of their surroundings, the new lighting conditions did. _________________

"Uh oh," Aria said as everything turned red around her. "This just can't be good. There must be another situation." She looked to Calodan. "Come on. Let's go to the bridge and see if we can help with...whatever it is this time." _________________

Croft nods to Brennen, then taps his combadge.
"Chief Smith, meet me on deck 5, bring a security detail."
Croft strode towards the turbolift, checking his personal phaser as he walked. As soon as the doors closed he swore loudly.
"Dammit!"
The cool female voice of the computer responded.
"Please restate the desired destination."
Croft glanced up, irritated and confused about why he had to take his two best friends into custody.
"Deck 5, as close as you can get me to Lt. Calodan's combadge."
As the computer chirped and the lift began to move, Croft rubbed his temples, trying to calm himself and clear the growing tension headache.
*Well, at least I get to find out what the hell is going on."
Within moments the lift doors opened, and Croft exited. He could hear Loiy speaking to Calodan just around the corner, although he couldn't tell what was being said. Croft pulled his phaser, glancing up at the lights, that were flickering feebly. He stepped around the corner, holding the phaser ready but pointing down.
"Jim, Aria, if you will come with me peacefully, this will be a lot easier."
The gold collar around his neck and the full Lt. pips were still visible in the poor lighting. _________________

"Croft?" Aria said in surprise. Her eyes flicked over his grim, uncomfortable expression, and passed to the phaser in his hands. She blinked in surprise. "What's going on?" she asked him gently. _________________

Croft glanced back and forth at the both of them, looking uncomfortable.
"I'm not sure, but I need to get you two isolated, Captain's orders."
He glances down the corridor.
*Come on Smith, where are you?* _________________

(OOC: Sorry, I was on the new forum... didn't see any posts over there...)
SCPO Smith
USS Hartington - Security Office
"Chief Smith to Lieutenant Croft - I am on my way sir."
Smith wondered what might be going on to warrant him leading a detail. He guessed it must be big. _________________

"Isolated," Aria echoed. She exchanged looks with Calodan. "The Captain didn't say why?" _________________

Croft pondered exactly how much he should say before speaking.
"He seemed to be expecting something like this, although I don't know how." _________________

"He was expecting this," Aria repeated. She stared in disbelief. This couldn't be a timeline they'd already been to, could it? No, because Qech hadn't been dead in either of them. But then how could Brennon possibly...
She shook her head, annoyed with herself. Worry about how later. Right now deal with the immediate situation. The immediate situation in this case was Croft looking distinctly unhappy about holding them at gunpoint. She felt instant pity for him, even though he was not the one being taken prisoner.
"All right," she said. "We'll...what's the phrase? Come quietly? But it's very important that we speak with the Captain immediately. Would you tell him that?" As she spoke she sent him a wordless emotion. A sort of 'it's all right' soothing vibe. She hoped he didn't feel too bad about being in the position of captor. He looked so miserable.
((OOC: Marek, you've hinted a few times that you want Aria and Croft to grow closer, and I think that's a fun idea. So I'm running with it. Hope that's what you in mind...)) _________________

Croft found himself relaxing slightly, the familiar touch of Aria's mind soothing him. He motioned for the both of them to begin walking down the corridor, in the direction of a nearby cargo bay. As they begin walking, a security team arrives, flanking the group on all sides.
OOC Smith, feel free to be part of the arriving group, or make your own entrance.
OOC2 Aria, cool, I think there could be a lot of character development between the two, I think that would be an interesting direction. _________________

((OOC: Good, then. ))
Aria glanced around as they walked, her brow furrowing. Though she'd been a member of the Hartington crew for a relatively short time, she was familiar enough with the ship to know her way around. And they were going in the wrong direction.
"Um..." She cleared her throat. "We aren't going to the brig? Not that I'm complaining, mind." _________________
