Captain's Log, Stardate 53998.1

The Hartington has been in the Gamma Quadrant for nearly three months. We've categorized several spacial anomalies, surveyed four solar systems and explored three Class-M worlds. We have yet to make contact with any new species since our encounter with the mysterious Tal'Harton. Ambassador Rolen has updated us with what information he could provide from his Dominion database on both this region of space and the Tal'Harton.

We have recently received telemetry from several of our long range probes. It appears our First Contact dry spell may be coming to an end. The sector of space we're nearing appears to be rife with subspace signals, warp trails and other signatures of advanced spacefaring culture. I anticipate the journey into this area will be very interesting.
