He's a survivor...Is that how they describe a man who avoids death or enslavement, only to watch helplessly as his surviving colleagues are put to work on an orbital project he cannot stop?

He knows his weapons....Perhaps a euphimism for how he is out of place in an exploration minded Starfleet?

Enough commanders post AR-558 who've seen his record have viewed him as almost insane. But is it insane to hate those accursed reptiles who took his beloved's life? Is it insane to want to take their lives as well? To relish having taken exactly three hundred and seventy-two of their lives with supposedly dated technology?

Why was it that Captain Brennon allowed him to serve on his ship where other Captains wanted nothing to do with him. He knew other captains who'd seen his service record and some of the sealed records from his attempts to talk to counselors didn't want someone they viewed as unstable as a Master at Arms.

"He requires time to heal..." - Captain Solak...Get this man out of Starfleet immediately.

"His methods are dated, effective, but dated." ...He has no place.

He walks Deep Space Nine's Promenade, eyes always on the alert. Old instincts to die hard and he feels that high octane mixture of dread, hatred, and ice cold knowledge when his eyes alight on a group of Cardassians.

I could kill the one on the left with a knife thrust to the underside of the jaw, then take the larger one immediately after. The third looks like he'd be tougher to kill.

The sight of those reptiles makes him angry. What they stole from him was more than his fiancee, but his soul as well.

There is a low growl beside him, and the large Terran canid, a German Shepherd glares at the Cardassians, as if understanding his master's loathing of the reptilian filth.

He sees the office of Deep Space Nine's counselor and notes the scheduling board. It says she has an opening and USS Hartington is still a couple of days inbound. Perhaps another try to regain my sanity, if any of it remains...
