ACTION
As Qech and Uvek tried to help Zeara, the group could see the creatures start their march towards them once again. Step by step the aliens moved closer and closer, all the while the one who had locked eyes with the party's diplomatic officer stayed perfectly still. Its attention shifted, the obsidian eyes locking in on Lieutenant Calodan's. Moments passed before a screeching sound shot forth from the being again. It was so loud that the assembled team had to cover their ears to protect them. As the noise subsided, the team could see that the creatures had once again halted their advance, now only a handful of steps away.
"Drop your weapons." came the familiar voice from behind the bulk of the group. Lieutenant Calodan stepped forward, his expression completely neutral and his voice without any color at all.
Nearby, Lieutenant Rhak's tricorder beeped and the Pahkwa-thanh looked over the data he was receiving. His eyes widened and he looked to Qech, trying his best to whisper.
"Commander..." he hissed, "We may have a problem." _________________

"Commander...We may have a problem."
Qech looked to Calodan, who's expression was blank. His voice sounded far away. This isn't right....
"We're not going to stick around for that problem, Lieutenant" she said quickly, tapping her combadge. "Qech to Hartington. Away Team to beam out immediately." _________________

Uvek looked at Calodan, then to Rhak. At the first order, his hand went automatically to his weapon. At Rhak's warning his eyes dropped to the tricorder in his hand. It was flashing but he could not see what was on it.
He tried to catch Smith's eye and motioned his men to remain still, watching to see what would happen. His gaze fell finally on Commander Qech, on whose shoulder's rested the next few seconds. His fingers thumbed the settings on his phaser, automatically pushing the signal to the red: to KILL. _________________

ACTION
The transporter beam coalesced around the away team, tingling as it pulled them away from the inhospitable planet and depositing them back within the safe confines of the Hartington.
Lieutenant Rhak pushed past the others on the pad and hit a few commands on his tricorder.
"Commander, this cannot wait. Lieutenant Calodan has been exposed to some form of psychic attack. The tricorder picked up what appeared to be some sort of bioelectric wave between him and the alien. I'm not picking it up now, but I am reading some very strange electrical surges from within his brain."
The Pahkwa-thanh's eyes shifted towards Lieutenant Calodan, locking onto the man wearilly. _________________

Calodan fell to his knees on the pad, grabbing at his head.
"No, we must go back. Beam us back..now." He struggled to his feet and started towards the transporter controls. The neutral expression from the planet had been replaced with a look of frenzy. _________________

"Commander," started Uvek. "I strongly recommend a small away team. You, Lt. Zeara, Calodan and myself. We must limit exposure of this event until we know more about it." _________________

"No, we must go back. Beam us back..now."
Qech shook her head, crossing the room to her frantic comrade. "Not until we know who's speaking, Calodan. We need to get you to sickbay." Qech tapped her combadge and gave the order for a medical team when Uvek spoke:
"Commander, I strongly recommend a small away team. You, Lt. Zeara, Calodan and myself. We must limit exposure of this event until we know more about it."
"I'm not risking this happening to anyone else, Lieutenant. Ultimately, we'll need to go back, but not until we know more. Lt. Zeara, you said you caught a glimpse of its mind... We'll start there."
Again, the Commander tapped her combadge, this time contacting the Captain. "Sir, this is Qech. I'd like to request an emergency debriefing. Something very odd happened down there and there are some pieces that need to be put together..." _________________

"Sir, this is Qech. I'd like to request an emergency debriefing. Something very odd happened down there and there are some pieces that need to be put together..."
"NO! We have to go back...all of us...now!" Calodan struggled to the transporter console and began punching in commands. "Back, we have to go back." His voice broke off into mumbling, his eyes wide and slightly crazed. _________________

Qech quickly stepped between the second officer and the transport console. When her attempt to calm him failed, she grabbed his arms and locked them in place behind his back. She knew she wouldn't be able to hold him long as he flailed and fought madly against her, and she didn't want to hurt him... or vice versa.
"Calodan! You need to calm down! You're going to Sickbay, and that's final." She knew she was reasoning with the unreasonable, and found herself counting the seconds until the medical team arrived. _________________

"Davynn...let me go. We have to go back! WE HAVE TO GO!" He fought against Qech, trying to reach the panel. "They want us to come back. Please, let's just g...." his rant was ended with the hiss of a hypospray as the medical team sedated him. _________________

Location: Transporter Room One, USS Hartington
"Sir, this is Qech. I'd like to request an emergency debriefing. Something very odd happened down there and there are some pieces that need to be put together..."
As the medics stepped into the room and subdued Lieutenant Calodan, the Captain's voice called out over to com in response to Qech's request.
"Understood, Commander. Have your away team assemble in the Conference Room. Lieutenant Solana has been recording some interesting data from the surface, we think it may have something to do with the Aliens. We'll meet up shortly."
As Calodan's body slumps to the ground, Doctor T'Lau runs a medical scanner over his body, a brow cocking upwards as she reads the data. Her gaze shifts upwards towards Qech as the corpsmen take the unconscious Trill away.
"Commander, I am reading some very unusual synaptic potentials in the Lieutenant and his isoboramine are highly elevated. Such readings are common when a joined Trill comes into contact with higher order psionics. We will need to be briefed on what happened on the surface, preferably as soon as possible if not immediately." _________________

Uvek was moving through the crowded transporter room to help the commander when the medical team stepped in led by Dr. T'Lau. After Calodan had been sedated he turned to his security team.
"Stand by here and be prepared. I do not like where this is going, but I suspect we have not seen the last of the planet surface."
He turned to see whether Commander Qech was heading toward the conference room or no. _________________

Qech nodded. "We're meeting for an emergency debriefing in the conference room. You can have a medical representative report in to record our findings. If that's not possible I'll request an open comm to sickbay. In the meantime..." She gestured for Dr. Newell to approach the conversation. "Dr. Newell was present the entire time. He would be a good choice to help with Calodan." She looked down at her friend, a sad frown creeping across her face. "I just hope he'll be alright..."
Her eyes left the injured Trill and her face re-assumed its neutral mask as she turned to face the rest of the gathered away team. "Debriefing in the Conference Room everyone. Lieutenant Zeara, I hope you're up for some questions." _________________

a little pale in the face at all that had transpired and the overwhelming mental issues that were still trying to be processed, she couldn't help but stand with the palm of her hand against her forehead. Her hearing was still a bit worse for the wear, making the Commander's voice sound like she was standing at the end of a tunnel.
Pulling her hand away from her head, her voice still sore to use she nodded slowly. "I can't be certain the answers will make sense though..." she said through a voice that sounded as though it'd been rubbed with sandpaper. _________________

"I can't be certain the answers will make sense though..."
"Hopefully we can make sense of them" she said as she walked with the others to the Conference Room. She took her seat to the Captain's right and waited for the assembled crew to do the same.
All the while, Qech couldn't help thinking about Calodan, about the look on his face, and the urgency in his voice. She planned on bringing his urgent cries that they return to the surface up at the meeting, as she wasn't ready to dismiss them as mad rambling. It was another piece of the puzzle. And Qech was determined to know more before putting anyone else in harm's way. _________________
