Petty Officer Karl Koester was in a foul mood as he stalked through the Hartington's corridors with Max trotting at his side. They were going to recover those damned Cardies.

He had submitted his recommendations to LT Uvek that the Cardassians be confined to quarters for at least 48 hours with security details monitoring their movements at all times. The Cardassians, he proposed, were not to be permitted any access to comms aboard USS Hartington. The proposal had just been sent to Uvek's PADD when he decided to visit the counselor.

His heart hammered as he touched the chime on the counselor's office door...
