Year: 2364 (6 years after the first post)

“Just a few more months until we return to Andor to get you looking good again,” T’Cor spoke to the security console in front of him.
The Andorian vessel Calvet was just two months away from a complete refit. It was about time, the old ship has been in serving for the past 23 years without an upgrade.
T’Cor was looking forward to getting back to Andor, after three months away, for another reason. To see Ella.
The last time he’d seen her, she was hinting as the idea of becoming his bride. He was scared off at that time, wanting to be strictly career with the military. Since then, he had time to think about and liked the idea of starting a family finally.
T’Cor jumped back to reality as his console in front him began chirping and the captain of the vessel turned to look at him.
“Report, Soldier,” the captain said to T’Cor.
T’Cor’s antennae arched downward as T’Cor began punching on the console on the rust-bucket vessel. His brow frowned.
“It’s a distress call sir, just outside of the Andor sector,” T’Cor said.
The captain walked up to T’Cor’s station and looked over his shoulder.
“Contact a nearby Federation ship, we are not permitting to venture beyond the sector, it’s not in our orders,” the captain spoke.
T’Cor nodded and began punching at the console again.
“No Federation ships nearby, closest one is at least two hours away,” T’Cor said. “We’re the closest.”
The security officer looked to his right at the captain, waiting for the next order.
The captain nodded and thought silently for a few seconds.
“Helm, set a course for the distress call, max warp and engage,” the captain said. “T’Cor, wake the security chief and help him get the crew ready. I’m not taking any chances here. Battle stations, everyone.”
A blue light flashed on the bridge as the soldiers armed themselves – a requirement during battle stations aboard Andorian vessels. The security members were already wearing their weapons.
T’Cor felt the hum of the ship pick up as they hit warp drive.
Hopefully she doesn’t fall apart going this fast.

(30 minutes later)
T’Cor stood alongside security chief Jirad as the Calvet slowed to impulse as the vessel reached the distress call location.
“Sensors at full,” T’Cor said loud enough for the security chief and captain to hear.
T’Cor looked at the sensor readings and jumped back slightly.
“Captain, it’s a Romulan Scout Vessel, drifting,” T’Cor said, he hadn’t seen a Romulan vessel since his home world was attacked just before his first space mission. Two of his closest friends died in that attack and he still hadn’t gotten over it.
The captain tightened up in his command chair.
“On the view screen, now,” he voiced.
On the screen a small Romulan Scout Ship appeared, drifting lifelessly in front of them.
“No power readings, can’t get through to see if there is anyone alive,” the chief of security said. “T’Cor, can you find a way to get through their shielding to scan for life.”
T’Cor was frozen looking at the scout ship. If he had it his way, he’s hit the torpedo button without asking questions, just to destroy the ship. It’s what those Romulan’s deserved, T’Cor thought.
“Soldier, wake up!” the chief yelled at T’Cor.
“Sorry, Sir,” T’Cor punched away at the console.
“Captain …” the helmsman sheepishly said.
The captain, security chief and T’Cor all turned towards the view screen where two Romulan warbirds decloaked.
“Charge weapons,” the captain said. He didn’t have to give the order for shields, they went up automatically once he called for battle stations.
One of the warbirds quickly opened fire, not on the Calvet though, but on its own Scout ship.
“They’re hailing us, Sir,” the security chief said to the captain.
“On screen,” the captain answered.
“I am Tal’va, Captain of the Romulan Warbird Jeja,” the Romulan spoke. “You did not see anything here, leave now or be destroyed.”
T’Cor looked at his console as it chirped more.
“Two more warbirds decloaking, Captain,” T’Cor said softly.
The Romulan looked off to his side. “Target the Andorian vessel, if they don’t leave in 30 seconds, destroy them.”
There wasn’t much for the captain to do, they were no longer in the Andorian sector, he had no privileges where they were. It was Starfleet space.
“Help, get us the hell out of here,” the captain said. “Take us back home.”
T’Cor watched on his scanners as the Calvet departed, leaving the four Romulan warbirds sitting where they had just destroyed one of their own vessels. What were they doing so close to our space.
“T’Cor, notify the Federation of what just happened, they’ll want someone out here,” the captain said.
T’Cor nodded and began typing at his console as it came to life again with more chirping.
“Captain, receiving a message from Andor,” T’Cor said. He paused, couldn’t believe what he was reading. “They’re under attack by the Romulans, Sir. Six warbirds.”
The captain slammed his fist on his chair. They lured the Calvet away to attack.
“Increase speed helm to max warp,” the captain said. “T’Cor, notify Federation immediately asking for assistance.”
Just as the Calvet jumped to max warp, the ship jerked to a stop and explosions rang throughout the bridge.
T’Cor was thrown from him station. He shook it off and quickly returned to work.
“We’re under attack sir, a Romulan Warbird, they just disabled warp and they’re targeting us again,” T’Cor said. “Shields at 80 percent.”
“Return fire!” The captain yelled as he climbed off the floor and took over the helm station where a crewmate was laying lifelessly.
T’Cor smirked as he hit the phase cannon and torpedoe buttons on the console, sending an array of fire power on the Romulan vessel.
“They’re taking damage sir, not much though,” T’Cor said.
T’Cor and the security chief were quickly trying to bring shield power up just as the Romulan vessel fire a round of weapons.
T’Cor noticed the captain flying out of his seat and hitting the deck hard. He wasn’t moving.
“Sir, the captain,” T’Cor said to his security chief.
“Keep firing, Soldier,” the chief said as he went to check on his captain. “He’s dead.”
T’Cor slammed his fist on the console.
“Weapons down, shields down,” T’Cor said, looking at his new command officer, the security chief.
The security chief turned towards the view screen.
“Sir, they’re leaving. The Romulans are leaving,” T’Cor said. He couldn’t tell what was happened on Andor, long range sensors were still down.
“Acting captain to all decks, start repairs, we need to get back home,” the security chief said. “Medical to the bridge immediately.”

(2 hours later, arriving at Andor)
“Sir, it looks like the Romulans destroyed all of our ancient buildings,” T’Cor said. “Minimal casualties, according to the Imperial Guard.”
T’Cor looked at his console as the Calvet began to enter a badly damaged space dock.
“The Romulans believed we were holding their soldiers captive,” T’Cor said. “Imperial Guard reports they struck fast and left.”
The Romulan soldiers weren’t being held captive, their vessel had crash landed on a nearby planet and the Calvet rescued them and returned them to Andor until they could be picked up by a Romulan vessel.
We should have killed them from the start, T’Cor thought.

good posting, it helps develop a seeded hatred that turns into respect and cooperation with a person in a race that you never thought you'd be working with (something Star Trek is famous for).

Let's keep developing our backstories and see what happens.
