Uvek stood as the meeting broke up. At the moment he did not know who was going on the away mission, or what to expect, but that was not his chief concern.

He turned to PO3 Smith, "Report to the armory that we are storing phaser rifles in the runabout in the event of emergency."

He then turned to Master Koester. "Set your teams in the mentioned areas...NO phaser rifles...understood? We will secure the areas with hand helds and present security without looking like an armed camp. In the event you are on the away team, you should store your sniper rifle, but do not present it unless the situation demands. We will look like exactly what we are; a rescue mission." "Of course," he said with a sly grin, "Since we will travel by runabout, you should station one man on the craft to watch supplies. No sense being too friendly."

He moved to the bridge to oversee the tactical arrangements for responding to any abrupt changes in the situation.

As he moved out of the room, he turned to Lt. Commander Qech..

"If you need me I will be on the bridge, Ma'am. I will need to report to Major Ludwigsen and see if he can have Beta squad prepared, and inform him of our posture."

"Sir, I'll watch the supplies myself. LT Chu'lak's exographic targeting modification and micro-transporter non-line of sight weaponry engagement means that I can engage targets easily if threats present themselves. Position me in the runabout and I can keep sniperwatch on the away team." Koester replied.

Uvek nodded. "Very well, Mr. Koester," he replied, "I will pass your recommendation to Major Ludwigsen during my report. I expect there will be no problem with that. I think it is a wise move."

He moved to the bridge, pausing to address the first officer on his way out.

"Thank you sir." Koester replied, "I can stay out of sight fairly easily thanks to that new displaced targeting technology. Recommend that we take one of our security snipers and two Marines with us as well for additional real world training."
