Uvek was thoroughly uncomfortable. The joviality of the evening was esentially wasted on him. He did not fully understand the game and, despite his attempt to draw Azmay into discussion, he was not sure this was appropriate. Years of Romulan traning and upbringing were just hard to shake off.
He pulled at his collar briefly, then looked at his cards again. Well, perhaps this will work out anyway. _________________

Tammy returned with a tray of shot glasses full of a golden colored tequila and set several in front of each person that Calodan had indicated to her as well as offering the remainder to the rest at the table. Calodan took two of the shots in front of him, toasted his drinking partners, and slammed back both of them, turning the glasses upside down in a small stack beside his chips. "Thats two." _________________

"Mr. Azmay," he said, "I am curious, how do you find working in sickbay? It must be a fascinating study for you."
Azmay turned to the Romulan officer, and replied: "Please forgive it, Uvek... It is fully set on the game. Concerning your question, it is thought to be very interesting, as working as a doctor has always been wanted. It is guessed that helping people is one of the things that are really done well"
OOC: Sorry, folks, wrong time zone.
"Glad you approve. Bet is to you Azmay..what would you like to do?"
Ázmay looked at es cards, es expression totally blank, and then said:
"It is guessed it is going to pass, if that is the word. There is no way anything could be done with that hand. It is guessed this game is interesting, but if you don't mind, it would be preferred to stay aside and look while the rest of you play for a while" |

"Absolutely no problem Azmay. You can fold out now and just enjoy the conversation. That is the point of this party, more then playing the game. I guess that that means you win this hand Uvek."
Vince collected all the cards off the table ad pushed the stack of chips in the pot over to Uvek. Vince then began dealing the cards out again, two to each person who was playing. Calodan checked his cards and slowly put them back down. He was first bet after the blind. "I'll raise, 25." _________________

(OOC: also appears I'm in an 'off' timezone as well...)
Smiling to herself she listened to the order of shots being requested, knowing full well what Calodan was capable of, and noting the fact that Croft was at least half Betazoid, she was suddenly thankful for the 'gifts' that she'd been granted from Q. It didn't do all that much to help in most situations, but it did give her tolerance a boost. She was positive she wouldn't be able to outdrink Calodan, but she stood a better chance at winning over Croft, given he'd already had a few drinks, and she was only halfway through her rum and coke.
As the waitress set down four shots in front of her, she smirked at Caloden and watched him slam back two of them. Feeling arrogant, something rather unusual for her, she picked up the first one, toasted the table and downed, it then sequentially went through the line of four, setting the empty glasses upside down. With a reflexive shake of her head from the taste of the alcohol she'd gone so long without, she exhaled and looked at Croft.
"That's four. Your turn..." she said and watched as she was dealt a set of cards. damn... I think I've forgotten most of the rules to this one... she scolded herself. _________________

He watched Rea shoot all 4 shots and promptly followed up the second two and smiled at Croft. _________________

Waiting for Croft to catch up on the drinks, she looked at her cards. She had two low number suits, not something she wanted to have in her hand. With a sigh she looked around at her crewmates. It was refreshing to see everyone at ease. Then she noticed the expression on Uvek's face. He seemed almost out of sorts... and she felt for him. She herself had many times found herself in similar situations. Trying to ease things she looked at him with a smile.
"How do you find the game so far Mr. Uvek?" _________________

Uvek sat back shocked. He looked at his pile of chips, then to Azmay.
"Forgive me, Azmay, I am afraid I have been distracted by this." He turned to Counselor Zeara, uncertainty on his face. "It has been a pleasant distraction, Rhea." he said. Something was bothering him, however, and bubbling to the surface.
He looked at his cards, saw nothing and promptly folded. Romulans never push their luck. Right. The reality of his situation crashed in on him. Frivolity and jovial atmosphere aside, he was suddenly and brutally aware of himself once again. He looked at the present company and stood.
"Thank you, Lt. Calodan." he said, "I have appreciated the evening. However, I feel that it is time for me to go. I will take advantage of this opportunity again, I'm sure." He smiled at the remaining group, "Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy your game." _________________

Frowning at his sudden turn in mood and feeling something strange with him she couldn't help her professional side from coming through.
"I fold..." she muttered as she got up quickly and was only a few steps behind Uvek before she caught up with him only a few feet from the holodeck exit. walking swiftly in the heels and dress was quite a task when one was not used to it.
"Mr. Uvek... is something wrong?" she asked stopping him with a gentle hand on his arm. _________________

Qech watched Uvek go with concern. She felt bad for him, and hoped that he would be able to work it out with the counselor. She then turned back to the remaining crew at the table. Xavier was starting to look a little foggy-eyed, while Calodan... Well, didn't. She hated to be the kill-joy, but she had to speak up.
"Okay, gentlemen. Anyone with first shift tomorrow should probably take it easy at this point." She gave a meaningful look at Mr. Croft, and then looked to Calodan. "That means you too, to be fair. If you find your limit then you've had way too much." She laughed.
"Actually... Computer. Time."
The time is 2200 hours
"Shit, I'd better get to bed. I haven't slept properly in days, and I'm not about to push my luck." She stood up, and pushed in her chair.
"Thank you all so much for the game, as well as the... entertainment." She smiled. "We'll have to do this again sometime." As she walked around the table toward the door she called out: "See you bridge-side, Jim! Bright. Early. And sober!" _________________

Croft smiled, The last time I drank too kill ya.....oh well
"Sure Jim, why not." I can shoot for second place, He smirked, it wasn't the first Trill to try to hussle him at drinking, he had earned the respect of the first one, a woman no less, so he thought it would be worth it. He had a couple doses back at his quarters to lessen the symptoms in the morning, he should be in reasonable shape for duty. When the first shot arrived he slammed it back, Ugh, and this is Patron, _________________

OOC oops missed a page of posts, consider the last one part of the catch up.
Croft was on his third shot when Qech spoke.
"Okay, gentlemen. Anyone with first shift tomorrow should probably take it easy at this point." She gave a meaningful look at Mr. Croft, and then looked to Calodan. "That means you too, to be fair. If you find your limit then you've had way too much." She laughed.

Croft smirked, then watched Rea jump up after Uvek, Counselors
"Hey Jim, maybe next time." Croft slowly stood, decided he was going to stay upright, then began wandering towards the exit. He was too inebriated at this point to remember to stop staring at the counselor as he walked by. Very nice dress As was usual, once we had been drinking, it seemed to loosen up his telepathy. He was getting everyone's stray thoughts at once. Ah, that's why the Commander wouldn't drink catching one last thought as she walked out of range. He was surprised that Uvek was struggling so much with the game. He made it to the hall, then leaned against the wall for awhile, the swirl of thoughts and alcohol making him dizzy. _________________

"Well Jim, Azmay is interested in learning the game, all else have fled. Guess that leaves you and I." McTavish glances at his cards.
"What say we finish this hand and call it a night? All in." McTavish slides his chips into the center of the table. _________________

Going back to es usual speech pattern, Azmay nodded to Lt. McTavish and Lt. Calodan...
"Indeed, gentlemen, the game looks most interesting, even if it is something this one has never done before. One of these days you should let this one show you one of es people's traditional games. In fact, those present are just missing one player for a game of Awras Tanáys. A pity..." |

"Too rich for my blood. I've got a nothing hand to play with anyways." He threw in his cards. "Thanks for coming you two. I think I am going to follow the Commander's advice, I do have first shift tomorrow."
With that, he smiled at Liam and Azmay and made his way out the door. _________________
