OOC This post will make more sense if you read the latest Captain's log for the Guardian.
USS Guardian Bridge
Stardate 53999.3
Captain Marek
Marek sat in the command chair, going over staff reports for the day.
Ensign Fontaine
Fontaine sat at the helm, entering commands into the console.
"Captain, we just entered standard orbit of the planet."
Marek looked up at the Ensign, then back at his ops officer.
"Excellent, Mr. Talbert, perform a sensor scan of the surface, see if you can pinpoint the location of the energy signatures."
OOC If necessary, I will send PM's with specific information for your character. I would like to reiterate what Captain Brennon said earlier, Please PM me with any changes or surprises you would like to add to the story. There is room to flex, but I have specific things planned out for this story that will affect the overall story arc of the Guardian. Feel free to add posts of what your particular character is doing at the moment, the action will start up shortly. _________________

Stardate: 53999.3
Location: Bridge
Reporting as: Lt. Commander Talbert - Ops
Talbert looked at his board as a myriad of details flew by. He selected the important bits, sending additional pieces to tactical and helm control.
"Captain, scans detect primitive life, and a rather large but abandoned colony, capable of supporting around 10,000 people. No life signs in the colony itself, but there are weak energy signatures, perhaps from left over equipment or automated systems. No sign of defenses. A short distance from the colony, there could be signs of a space port, maybe even an abandoned ship." He paused, reading additional atmospherics before resuming.
"Standard Class M atmosphere, general terrain includes mountains, forests and bodies of water." _________________

Marek responds
"Excellent, Mr. Talbert, see if you can locate a safe transport site near the energy signatures." Marek turned to his first officer, "Mr. Gaer, assemble an away team, we should find out what happened to this colony." _________________

Location: Bridge
Reporting as: Lt. Commander Talbert - Ops
Talbert nodded as the XO began moving. "I have a location in a large square in the colony center, approximately 100 meters from the nearest energy signals."
He rechecked atmospherics. Weather was perfect, should be a sunny day.
"Your all set, Commander", he said to Mr. Gaer. _________________

Mehv, sitting at a console, grabs a PADD and pulls up some data he has compiled on the trip to the planet. He walks over to Chief Roe and patiently waits for an opportunity to grab her attention.
"Chief Roe, I have been looking at the matter/anti-matter reaction data during this last flight. There are some spikes and valleys in the flow rate of the anti-matter stream that is a little worrisome. I suggest we implement, a .4% increase to the phase variance of the containment field at coils 3 and 8 and a .6% decrease at coil 2. I may be overly optimistic, but I think we can increase our efficiency by a healthy .7%." _________________

LT Surok turned to deliver his Science Report, He had been collecting data from long range to short range scans and had noted some interesting notes to pass along. He began to speak when...

USS Guardian Main Engineering
Chief Roe
Roe grabs the PADD and glances over the figures.
"Your assessment is correct, Ensign, but you never want to make arbitrary adjustments to the phase variance of any containment field. Small steps is the key, implement .1% adjustments and reevaluate." He handed the PADD back to Ensign Kuplo and turned back to the console he was working at.
OOC I realize the Dylan is generally a girls spelling, but I wanted a little different spelling, Roe is actually a male. _________________

"Very good, sir, and if I might intrude a little while longer...
It is indeed wise to make a small change and while seemingly arbitrary my suggested changes were a result of extensive simulations. Would you like me to make the .1% adjustment now? We could increase core output to 60% to run a test and bleed the extra energy through the main deflector shield." _________________

USS Guardian Main Engineering
Chief Roe
Roe slowly turned to the Ensign, glaring. He took the PADD from the Ensign, tapped the screen several times, then handed it back.
"The baseline data for your simulations is flawed, the changes you suggest could allow a dangerous imbalance to the antimatter stream. This warp core is a prototype, of which I am the primary designer." He turned back to his console, "Your recommendation has been noted, your orders stand." _________________

Talbert sent his preliminary scans to Lt. Surok then turned to him.
"Science can have sensor allocation now. Keep the main tactical sensors inviolate, and the primary ventral array for the away team for my input, but the laterals are all yours."
He knew Surok was just itching to get his green little claws on that data. Vulcans. Well, I guess we'll know soon enough if all that practicality and logic can cut it, yes? _________________

USS Guardian: Main Engineering
Mehv, seemingly ignorant of the fact that Roe is displaying displeasure, responds cheerfully:
"It will be done. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. And what are your orders in regards to the performing the test at this time. Shall I check with Ops?" _________________

Chief Roe
Roe glances back at the Ensign, disbelief evident on his face.
"I will talk to the Captain and see when a good time for the test would be." He points to the console, "Is there anything else? Or can I get back to work now." He could barely reign in the sarcasm in his voice. Who did I tick off to get this duty, anyway? he thought to himself. _________________

USS Guardian: Main Engineering
"As you say, Chief! Your assistance is appreciated."
Mehv moves back to his station, un-phased by Roe's reaction. He immediately begins preparations to implement the change as ordered. Once complete, he starts working to setup a program for the test of the new changes so that he is ready upon receiving the go ahead. _________________

Commander Gaer
"Mr. Gaer, assemble an away team, we should find out what happened to this colony."
"Understood, Captain.
The Executive Officer tapped his combadge and called out to the Officers he intended to bring with him on the landing party.
"Chief Roekil, Lieutenant Surok, Doctor Uroki and Ensign Kuplo please report to the transporter room for away team duty. Chief, please assign one security guard for the team as well."
He closed the channel and made his way to the transporter room. _________________

Surok turn to LTJG S'Lynn,"You have the watch. I believe Ensign Hanson is in Lab 1, should you need assistance."
The Lieutenant pulled a Tricorder from the console and moved to the turbo lift. _________________
